Also Rosetta Stone Spanish and art thru a co-op. I'm excited! A middle schooler! We really do have similar things going on with the 4th and 6th graders. You are very brave to do First and Second Form at the same time. We are finishing up LC2 and the 6th grader could probably move to Second Form, but I think it will be too much for the 4th grader to do, and I really just want to keep them together, so First Form for everyone! A good solid review won't hurt any of us.
amyco
Re: Second Form--I debated about that too, but the lady at MP recommended that it's time to separate them. My dd really is ready to move on, but my ds is barely keeping up with LCII, and I've been letting him slide a little bit, knowing we're going into First Form with him. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Stacia
here's what I'm thinking.... Math: MUS Zeta + Life of Fred Decimals & Percents Logic: various grid & logic puzzle books that we have; perhaps also The Thinking Toolbox Spelling: Spelling Wisdom (we have this & do it intermittently as dd seems to be a natural speller for the most part) Grammar: GWG 6 Vocab: Vocabulary Cartoons, English from the Roots Up, Rummy Roots (will rotate/alternate through these) Poetry: continue IEW's poetry memorization program (plus will add other memorization using Living Memory) Lit: Literary Lessons from Lord of the Rings (will probably do more as reading & discussion, not so much writing or the 'workbook' type questions) Writing: continue w/ IEW SWI B (we are part way through this) Typing: not sure, but would like to find a good program (dd is currently using BBC's free Dance Mat typing) Science: Sonlight 4 OR perhaps The Colors curriculum (from the people who make Rainbow science) depending on the release date History: Finish Sonlight 6 & begin Sonlight 7; also fill out History Portfolio to go along with studies Geography: not sure -- we have the Trail Guide books & I could do those again OR I could make our own lessons using "The Book of Where" OR I might just keep it light & do something like Highlights Secret Adventures & Highlights Which Way USA? packs Music: I'm sadly lacking here & have no good ideas Art: not sure -- perhaps Drawing w/ Children OR finish our Handle on the Arts program OR ...??? Spanish: La Clase Divertida 2 Dutch: outside weekly class PE: horse-riding and (very likely) equestrian team; possibly continue tennis lessons

Liza Q
I am also planning 4th and 6th grades! I have several holes here as well :001_smile: Math: TT6 Reading: Historical fiction and a few other pretty-good books Writing: Both Jump In and Writing Tales appeal to me Spelling - continuing Spelling Plus Grammar - maybe Growing with Grammar History - the first 1/2 of BJU American Republic and SOTW 3 Science - Chemistry with a few books and a kit and an Evan Moor Workbook Bible - Art - Music - *wish* I could say piano lessons but college plans have left me with less money than I had hoped :glare: Logic - German - the big mystery. She reallllllyyyyy wants to do this as my 10th grader is taking an awesome class and it so appeals to this child. But I am stumped...I need to start researching this one. Ballet 2x per week - the studio (and she!!) would like me to bump it up to 3x but the $$$...not to mention getting her there! I think it will be the straw that broke the camel's back, though it may be the push we need to get more organized. Hmmm - I think German and Ballet need their own threads!
