Amethyst
My dd just moved into an apartment less than a month ago. Brand new apartment. No one wver lived in thsi unit, so brand new appliances. They have this appliance - washer/dryer combination. I’ve never heard of them before so never used one. Dd says her clothes are not getting dry now. She asked me where the lint screen was, thinking since she never emptied it, maybe that was the cause of clothes not getting dry. But apparently there is no lint screen on these jawns. I told her maybe she is overloading it?? Anyone have any experience/advice?
Miss Tick
The one time I used one of those combined units it took me a while to discover that there was a tray that collected water during the dry cycle and it had to be emptied occasionally. Is that a possibility? If they didn't leave an owner's manual, she can probably Google one online. There is often a "troubleshooting guide" in the back. itsheresomewhere
Unless the technology has massively changed in the past two years, my experience was these machines take much longer to dry. Clothes were still wet after a drying cycle. I hated a week with that machine.
Laura Corin
I've used them. The design flaw is that the drying capacity is much lower than the washing capacity. She needs to either wash half loads or take half out before drying.
MEmama
DS has one in his flat and reports it doesn't work well at all. He just uses a drying rack instead.
KungFuPanda
Dd had one in her old apartment. I think she split the load to dry. She hated it.

Condenser dryers collect water; they are standard in Europe. Definitely something to check for.
Amethyst
Thank you all. I told her to wash much smaller loads. I think when she lived at home generally washed all her clothes on Saturdays. Maybe two loads. But she goes through many more costume changed than I do in a typical day. So, we’ll start with that. Thanks for all the help!
