My ironing board cover is dead. Totally dead. I need recommendations. Help!

So ds's rescue cat came here for two days while he was out of town for work. I did not mind and wad happy to help UNTIL I came in from taking the dog for a walk to find she had sharpened her claws and simply shredded several places on it. It was a hairy, cat mess and will not survive a washing, plus it really did a number on the fiberfil. I am in the middle of working on 3 quilts for Christmas. 😭😭😭 I need to get a replacement and have exactly NO decent local shopping so I will be forced to order amazon, and have to wait for it to ship. I have made a make shift top with towels for spot ironing, and will keep at it. However, kitty ended up locked in the bathroom with her litter while I had the quilt tops out. Now she is sitting on Mark's lap because she tried going after the couch. She has a lot of anxiety and fear, poor thing. I am trying to be patient even though this is NOT what I needed right now.

Does anyone know of a really high quality ironing board cover available on Amazon?

I bought this one and like it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0758132LS?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It’s natural cotton over wool, eco-tek certified. It’s nice and thick.

Measure your board carefully, sizing isn’t standardized in recovering. My 25 year old board dimensions were different.

Thanks for the tip! I will go take a look at it.

They make wool ones that will fit on an ironing board  - and having tried a wool pressing mat I will never not have one! If you have the money they make big ones that would fit an ironing board, or work on a big table. A big one is pricey though.

This one is not on Amazon, but is designed for an ironing board https://love-sew.com/products/love-sew-wool-ironing-board-cover

Edit - found it on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Love-Sew-Wool-Ironing-Quilters/dp/B09BDC8PQ4

Oh gosh, I want a wool pressing mat in the worst way! I put this on my Amazon wish list so maybe someone will get it for me for Christmas. If not, I think an after Christmas splurge may be in order. Thanks for the link!

even a small one is awesome to have! I keep the small one right by my cutting mat, although I'm going to get a small folding table I think so I can put it next to me at the sewing machine when I'm quilting blocks that need a lot of pressing between sewing each seam.

I just came here to see who in the world is living a life where they could wear out an ironing board cover. 🤣 At the last hotel we stayed at my 4 year old was excited to see we had a surf board, so I’m gonna step out of the conversation now. 🤣

if it helps, I had to buy one for quilting, as I didn't have one before that. I certainly don't use it for clothing, lol.
