theelfqueen
Civil Air Patrol is very popular with homeschoolers in my area. JROTC is not homeschool friendly in my area as it is a class in high school as well as an extracurricular.... might vary by school.
Janeway
Go with Civil Air Patrol. JROTC tends to be attached to public school and Largent attract the kids with nothing else to do that parents are hoping to fix by sending them.

Exactly this for us except they will allow a homeschooler to enroll in school part-time for this class if you want to jump through the hoops. Everyone here loves Civil Air Patrol, though. Bambam
Civil Air Patrol is big here. Mostly homeschoolers in the group as well. They meet weekly and do various things on weekends (not sure how often). I believe they haven't been meeting lately due to COVID, and I'm not sure if they have restarted or not. QueenCat
I think it depends on where you live. Where we lived during the high school years, getting into JROTC was very competitive. You had both one class period a day during school and then after school things. Civil Air Patrol was popular with homeschoolers and private schoolers.
