My kids are grown now, but steak has been high on their list for a very long time, lol. For a restaurant dinner, their top choice for a long time has been sushi and hibachi.

Lori D.
We've always done that too. One DS almost always chose tortellini (from Trader Joe) with my homemade basil pesto. The other DS has had different "phases" over the years, from hamburgers & tater tots, to pizza, to Chinese potstickers (from a friend's recipe). No traditional cake eaters here, but my invented chocolate chip cheesecake recipe has been a hit for many birthdays. 😉 Although, these individual chocolate lava cakes are a hit with everyone, and are super easy and fast to make. We garnish with fresh raspberries and a big spoonful of warmed Trader Joe's Fleur de Sea caramel sauce. Yowzah! Edited January 31, 2021 by Lori D. MommytoFour
My kids pick on their birthdays, too. Two of my kids always choose sushi. The other two pick things like pizza, fried chicken, or mac and cheese. Sometimes Chinese food. None of my kids love cake. So, they typically have donuts or brownies instead of birthday cake.
