I have in the past.  I have also worked in nonprofit development, working closely with board members.

I don't have my nonprofit links here with me, but I have used this blog for ideas in the past (i'm not in love with everything she says or does, but she has some great ideas that have helped me in the past) Here's a basic intro to her blog - Nonprofits Are Messy  https://blog.joangarry.com/nonprofit-leadership-blog/

I think we are headed back on track.  Our  board has been operating more like a club with a hierarchy than a nonprofit board.

A lot of times IME nonprofit boards start out as groups of volunteers that are unusually committed, and gradually build into working boards, and from there into more formal Carver model boards.  You might be in transition?
