klmama
We have a furniture delivery coming from a store this week. Is this usually a tipping situation?
AK_Mom4
I tipped $20 each to the guys who carried our heavy bedroom set and set it up in the upstairs bedroom. I did not tip the appliance delivery guys who just dropped off the boxes in my garage.
J-rap
We didn't tip the guy who took 3 minutes to carry a mattress upstairs. We did tip the college students who moved our dd's furniture up three floors to her new apartment and set it up for her.
Carrie12345
I find tipping to be getting awkward because I’ve had one to FOUR people show up, and I don’t carry a whole lot of cash, let alone in various denominations. We always plan to tip, but it seemed really weird when a crew of guys brought in a 4-piece set like a sped up montage and we had two tens set aside. On the other hand, I gave two older men all the cash I had on me when they came to remove a giant rotting deer carcasss from my property! I still think of them fondly, lol. Arcadia
We tipped for heavy furniture that the delivery people helped bring into our house and put them where we want to set them up. If furniture is delivered to our door, we didn’t tip because it would be similar to UPS, FedEx delivery.
almondbutterandjelly
No, we pay extra to have the furniture delivered. We do not tip.
SKL
When we have offered to tip, we were told they were not allowed to accept tips. So it has been a long time since we offered. (Of course the last furniture we got delivered was at least 10 years ago, so we don't do this often.)

If they're not allowed to accept tips, we make sure to have cold bottles of water available to give them, especially in the hot summers.
