1GirlTwinBoys
My 14 year old is having extreme dry skin right now with flaking all over his face etc... What would be a good moisturizer that won't break him out? He's not on any meds etc...
happypamama
My allergist recommends CeraVe, and it works well for my winter eczema.
Selkie
I’ve always had dry skin that gets worse in cold weather, and I swear by Cetaphil. It’s the only moisturizer that doesn’t irritate my skin.

Our allergist just had my dd switch to CeraVe body wash for the shower and Cerave moisturizing cream (in the jar) for after. It's been great for my dd's eczema!

livetoread
I have had good luck with applying my moisturizer when I’m still wet from the shower and then barely patting dry. It irritates my skin less, I use less, and it seems to go on easier. I even wet my face before putting moisturizer on there now. I have extremely sensitive skin.
Pawz4me
CeraVe is great for normal dry skin. But I've found for my super super dry skin in the winter I need to step it up to Eucerin creme or Aquaphor. If you think it's eczema you might have him use something like this when it's really bad. DS19 has always been prone to very dry, flaky skin/eczema, and that stuff really helped keep his face looking a lot better when it was at its worst during his hormonal years. (I would say it saved his self esteem, but he's an Aspie and doesn't care a bit about how he looks. But it saved a wee bit of my sanity.) bensonduck
I have this periodically. Did he change laundry detergents? That has been a culprit for me before. (Cheek on pillow then leads to extreme facial dryness). I use straight up Vaseline sometimes.

Thank you for all the replies. We got the CeraVe and it seems to be helping a lot. Edited October 18, 2018 by 1GirlTwinBoys
