KarenC
I have 3 girls and I have no idea what a pre-teen boy would like. I know he's not much of a reader, but that's all I know. Any ideas for around $20? Thanks, Karen

Stacia
Pocketknife Nerf gun set If he likes computer games, gift card to a gaming store Even if he doesn't like to read, the Dangerous Book for Boys is pretty cool
Chelle in MO
My sisters did something fun for my boys one year...they bought popcorn buckets at Blockbuster and put Blockbuster gift cards and candy in them. They were a big hit! A three-man slingshot is fun for shooting wiffle balls or water balloons. Tickets to a go-kart track? Chelle
mom2abcd
My boys would have liked Legos at that age, but YMMV.

mcconnellboys
For my ten year old: Nerf things Lego things weaponry, always new weaponry Both of mine really like gift cards now, too. I think the empowerment is the appealing thing. Movies, perhaps. Book, of course. Maybe a smattering of "cool clothes" (he has a teen brother and thinks he's a teen, too). Camy-7 boybarians 1 lady
My 11 1/2 yob is viewing this over my shoulder and saying ditto to the Legos. Blessings.
Herding Cats in NC
My ds10 wants legos for Christmas this year. But, I have to second the marshmallow shooter idea. We made those with the kids a few months ago and they were a huge hit! The materials are pretty cheap, and the kids had so much fun making them. We got the directions from this site. As a bonus, the kids used leftover pieces to test how far the marshmallows went with different barrel lengths.
