elderberries?

They don't like to be transplanted.  I've tried to plant them 3x (3 different years) and they've never taken, and that was nursery stock purchased through our county conservation district, so they were zoned for our region.  But if you can get them to grow, they are supposed to get up to 15 feet tall x 8-10 feet wide.

I have a huge elder tree. Its just a common S. nigra that grows wild locally. I had to move it because it was struggling mixed in in a kind of shady spot amongst some other mature shrubs and barely grew in 3 years. When I moved it it more out into the open it grew massive extremely fast. This bush rarely actually sets fruit or of it does it's quite patchy. I've noticed a lot in the area don't either and it might be because it's wet just at the wrong time. They get really bad black aphid some years. I make elderflower wine some years. I know theres one type that flowers in autumn and doesn't tend to set much fruit.
