When your kid doesn't monitor his applications

My son wants to go to college, but he seems to find it all pretty overwhelming. I set up his separate accounts for the four colleges he ended up applying to, (all common app) and I offered to show him the passwords etc. so he could monitor them, but he told me to just tell him the results. He's not checking the mail either.

This has allowed me to come up with a great Christmas present. I found out he was accepted to his first choice, University of Cincinnati, a few days ago, so I bought a school hoodie and wrapped it with the acceptance letter. I can't wait to see him open it!

I am struggling horribly with this.  DD is in charge of it, but is not being thorough.  One email she thought was just "thanks for your app" was an acceptance email.  Another letter came in the mail, she again thought it was an acknowledgement and didn't read it fully, it said she was awarded a $6000 scholarship.

I want to go into her accounts and check things.
