Geometry DVD or online websites for instruction????PLEASE help

Recommended Posts

Still trying to decide about Geometry for 9th graders. One is an average learner and the other is quick/bright. BUT. I also need support in case I get stuck teaching harder concepts so I'm looking for DVD or online videos that go with the book or at least line up with the sequence.

I have been thinking about Chalkdust, but videos are long AND it is SO expensive!! Any other thoughts?

I found videos for Jorgenson(?) But i dont know much about it. Is it a hard book?

Please send some help my way...I have hip replacement soon and I need to get this figured out.

Thanks

Can you tell us what videos for Jurgenson? I would really love to know.

Edx has geometry online for free. We are going to give this a try.

Best of luck!

Another fan of Derek Owens.  We have had great success with him.  My kids have taken courses from Geometry-Calculus.  My husband was a math major in college and has been so impressed with my kids work.  Unfortunately hubby doesn't have the time to homeschool math and well, I don't go past Algebra I.   :tongue_smilie:

The ask dr. Callahan website offers teaching lectures to go along with high school textbooks. I think he uses the Jacob's Geometry. We are planning to use BJ Press geometry this next year.  Maria, at the mathmammoth.com website has a resource section that includes her recommendations to high school curriculum and a big list of free video websources for teaching. We have used the robbob videos on youtube to supplement our program when needed.
