Kim in Appalachia
Didn't see a thread, so I thought I'd start it. Post your workouts here!:)
Kim in Appalachia
Yesterday was a rest day for me. I needed it. I didn't even do any yoga, but that's because I was so sucked into my book. :) Today I ran 4 miles, on the treadmill since it was 15degrees out. My tights would have been warm enough but I know my hands would have been cold, plus there was ice on the roads. And I got to catch up on The Expanse. I can't decide if I'm liking this series. It's good, but the main characters aren't grabbing me. I also did 30 squats and 50 push-ups. Tonight, power yoga. The heated room will feel good.
Slache
I did some strength training because I'm a stupid, stubborn spoiled brat. I start Tai Chi tomorrow. :glare:
Joyofsixreboot
Taught yoga this morning. That's it.
KathyBC
Went to exercise class last night. Worked today, have to drive dd to her first dance class tonight, BUT... just found out there's a drop-in yoga class in the same building at roughly the same time, which is pretty amazing for a small town. Might check it out! ETA: or maybe not. Starting to sniffle with a cold and want to make sure dd gets settled her first time. Next week? Luckymama
I took yesterday off except for walking around at the airport (dd20 left for Greece yesterday). Today was a training session plus 35 minutes on the elliptical.
Kim in Appalachia
I went to yoga last night and did 60 minutes of yoga today. I need to do my squats still.
KathyBC
Seriously mouth-breathing with this cold. :tongue_smilie: Did the 40 minutes strength video. (The gold one, for older folks. Ya, I'm thinking the 40s aren't that old, but it's a good pace!)Felt so much better, might tackle that advanced one again tomorrow.
Kim in Appalachia
Hope your cold gets better soon, Kathy. My dh is battling one, and I'm hoping not to get it. I ran 5 miles this morning, plus 40 squats and push-ups.
Slache
Yesterday I did some manual labor at the church. It was good to be human again. Today is Tai Cheng day 1/90. Edited January 13, 2016 by Slache
KathyBC
Tai Cheng looks good.
Slache
Tai Cheng looks good. I did probably the first 3rd of it when my back was really bad. It improved my back pain so much I stopped taking medication (and man was I on some strong stuff!) and improved my posture and grace. Those benefits never went away even though I didn't finish the program. I think that's mostly because of my back though. Every time I started to let my posture slip my back started to hurt so I had my own little personal trainer stabbing me in the back all day. Side note: I want this!
Kim in Appalachia
The mat looks nice. I wonder if my dh would like it? or my dd?
KathyBC
Alright, tackled the 40 minute activate video again; it sure does go more smoothly the second time, though I still don't think I've worked quite like that in decades.

Luckymama
Yesterday: training session (150 lb deadlift!) plus 30 min elliptical Today: bodyweight bootcamp class this evening I laced my sneaker too tight on Tuesday and bruised my instep. Ouch! I hope we won't do any side lunges tonight. Edited January 14, 2016 by Luckymama
Joyofsixreboot
All I accomplished on Wednesday was to teach yoga. The weather had a really, really cold snap or at least that was my excuse. Today was much nicer so I ran. It was still pretty slippery so I waited for sunrise which made it very pretty. Red sky this morning so I'm taking warning.
Luckymama
The bodyweight class yesterday was a killer, the hardest yet. I had to sit out the last bit of pushups----even knee type were too much after all the rest.

regentrude
Monday: 5 miles biking (to work and back). Cold and spots of ice to avoid. Tuesday: 5 miles biking (to work and back). Not quite as cold. Wednesday: 1 hour Zumba class - my first one ever. Thursday: 11 mile hike. (We'll work on the weekend instead)
Luckymama
Just 45 min on the elliptical today. The machine's readout said I burned 500 calories but my FitBit (heart rate monitor version) said I burned 390. I'm going with the lower number. BooksandBoys
Monday: hour on the bike Tuesday: Strength training Wednesday: swimming with the kids doesn't really count as exercise, but I just couldn't find time to do anything else. Thursday: hour on the bike, push ups, jump squats Friday: 45 minutes on the bike. The day isn't over, so I'm still planning some strength training

The machine's readout said I burned 500 calories but my FitBit (heart rate monitor version) said I burned 390. I'm going with the lower number. Those machines are so inaccurate. But 390 for 45 minutes is still good. I don't burn that much running for 45 minutes.

Kim in Appalachia
3 miles on the treadmill today. I was so tired. My dh was on call last night and that phone rang every hour. I tried to just run on the treadmill, and I had planned 6 miles, but my body was not up for it so I stopped after 3. I'm trying to be happy that I ran, but I'm disappointed that I didn't hit my goal.
Kim in Appalachia
Tai Cheng 3/90 What is Tai Cheng? Is it a program? I'm intrigued.
Kim in Appalachia
Tai Cheng 2/90 Not you though, right? ;) I had looked at something like that a few years ago, but it was a full length mat, supposed to be like being on a bed of nails (??I think that was the ad) It was in Yoga Journal. I never thought about one for back issues. My dh and my girls have super tight back/neck/shoulders. I'm always looking for stuff to help their sleeping. All 3 have special pillows. My oldest dd has a foam topper for her mattress.

AppleGreen
My FitBit tells me I walked 9 miles today. I walked this morning for over an hour while I talked to my mother on the phone, and other quick mile walk after dinner. I went to the grocery store and Target this evening, so I am sure I picked some up waling around there. I am rocking January with steps. I am finally getting back into my weight training and classes at the gym after sporadically hitting those over the holidays. I was on a very regular schedule, but got sick in October and was out for a solid month, so it feels great to be settling back into my rhythm.
