38carrots Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I got myself a Spoonk. Solely based on the Hive excitement, haven't even researched it. It was an impulse buy. I really like it. I haven't experienced anything miraculous, and it hurts like h*ll. But...I've had this tightness in my neck / shoulders which made checking for blind spot a bit painful. Since I've been rolling it up under my neck when I read in bed, the tightness is gone on the left, and almost gone on the right. And that's only after a couple of short sessions. I used it on my thighs after jogging as I think it relaxes the muscles that when tight affect my knees and cause the knee pain. I've seen an imrovement. Under my back this is when it hurts a lot. And standing on it hurts too. Haven't done much of it yet. How's everyone else doing wiht it? How do you find the time? Quote
mamiof5 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I got one, but have only used it a few times. One time I fell asleep on it, not the best idea. Just don't have the time right now to use it. Can't tell if I love it, haven't used it as much 1 Quote
Lara in Colo Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) I got it for DH. We have only had it for a week. I have used it twice and I have been impressed, but there isn't enough usage/date to support a real theory yet. I do like it better when I use it on my waterbed, it seems to give more even pressure on all of my back. Edited January 11, 2016 by Lara in Colo 1 Quote
happi duck Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Thanks for the reminder! We've had one for years but I always forget to use it! I need to find out where dh tucked it away...out of sight, out of mind! 1 Quote
mommymonster Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I got one for my husband, but have ended up using it more than he has. I haven't had any miraculous cures, but I didn't have any huge tightness or other complaints to start with. It does feel energizing, which makes it worthwhile to me. 1 Quote
AlmiraGulch Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I got one, and I used it once. I think I liked it, after it stopped hurting like I was settling in on a bed of hornets. Then getting off the thing hurt even more. I did not have any great release of tension or soreness, but I did like that warm feeling when the endorphins kicked in. I should probably use it again, because apparently I adore self-torture. 2 Quote
matrips Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I bought one and just started using it this month. I only remember when my muscles are tight and really hurting. It has definitely helped. Though I'm not quite sure of the why it works part. 1 Quote
Slache Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Oh, that looks horrid. I have a thericane. Would I like it better than a thericane? 1 Quote

Not sure why. 1 Quote
Incognito Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I bought one because of the boards and so far so good. I wish I had somewhere visible to keep it because it really is not part of my routine, so I forget to use it. It has felt good to use, I am not sure about long term effects. 1 Quote

SounderChick Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I got one just cause of these boards it's been great it won't fix the issue in my hip joint but It helps with the tightness and pain in the surrounding area. 1 Quote
38carrots Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Yeah, about 10 minutes in. It was nice, and it didn't hurt so much anymore at that point. I like the sensation of being on it. Nice and tingling. But pulling myself off, that's a different story. Maybe I need a very think layer of fabric? Quote

duckabell Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I have one and like it, but lately it's been too cold to lay on it in thin clothing. 1 Quote
