Pen
Has anyone here tried getting Amazon gift cards via TurboTax with their tax refund and had either a good or bad experience doing that? If so, would you be willing to share? Or PM me if it needs to be private. Thanks!!!
ocelotmom
We did this last year for part of our return. I'm not sure of the exact logistics because it went to DH's account, but it worked just fine. If you'd be spending the money on Amazon anyways (or can get what you'd be buying elsewhere on Amazon for the same or lower cost) then it's a good deal.
kewb
We did it last year. It worked just fine.
LucyStoner
We have done this for the last 2 or possibly 3 years. It works fine. When we get our refund auto deposited, I also get an email for an amazon code. I think it's a 5% bonus so a $500 deduction from your refund gets you a $525 Amazon credit.
AndyJoy
Yep, totally legit. It was a nice little boost since we buy so much from Amazon anyway!
Aiden
We spend a good bit on Amazon, so we usually get the gift card. It's perfectly legit and easy.
Elfknitter.#
Huh. I never knew about this since we use another service.
Btervet
We've done it for two (maybe three?) years. It's a very good deal with the bonus, and we buy almost everything off on Amazon, so spending it has never been a problem.
RootAnn
My mom did it with part of her refund this year. She appreciated it since she buys things off Amazon regularly. It was straightforward, although she waited for my sister to come over to add the gift card to her Amazon account. (She could do it herself but likes to let us think we are helpful.) No issues.
Kari C in SC
I've done it the last two years. I bumped it up this year and will do even more next year. I like having my Amazon purchases prepaid.
