Guest
I hope it's okay to post this. I was saddened to receive some bad news from a Yahoo group today that John and Janet are not doing so well and are in need of moral support. It would mean a lot to them if you could send them a letter, a card, a story, or if your children could make them a piece of artwork. I am not sure whether it is okay to post a direct link to John Taylor Gatto's medical fund or not, but it is easy to find with your search engine and you can find the address there. If you are unfamiliar with John and his work, Ann Zeiss created a page for you here: http://a2zhomeschooling.com/main_articles/john_gatto_innovative_teacher/ *edited*

Reefgazer
He's getting up there in years and I'll miss his unique take on things when he is gone. His "Underground History of American Education" is such a well-researched and thorough book.

Suzanne in ABQ
That's sad. His book, Dumbing Us Down, was instrumental in our decision to homeschool in the first place.
