J-rap
She stopped at a restaurant on the way, and found out that they served her gluten (in something that normally doesn't have gluten in it, and that was actually advertised as gluten-free!). She is on a long road trip with friends across the country, and is sooo sick. Is there anything that helps this, or do you just have to wait it out? Jean in Newcastle
I saw this http://www.amazon.com/Enzymedica-GlutenEase-Complete-Gluten-Formula/dp/B00HLXQ4UY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438644629&sr=8-1&keywords=glutenease in a pharmacy lately but I haven't tried it to know if it helps.
Butter
Pretty much she'll just have to deal with it until the effects pass. She should lodge a complaint, though chances are the restaurant has a cross contamination disclaimer. Restaurants have varying levels of being able to deal with cross contamination.

Granny_Weatherwax
Oh no. I am so sorry for your DD. A fear of cross-contamination or misunderstandings by chefs, cooks, or servers is why I don't eat out when traveling. I have yet to find the magic pill that rescues me from the side effects of gluten. I have to wait it out, usually 1-3 days. I hope she bounces back quickly.
BrittanyM
Would taking charcoal help?
Rosie_0801
Find a Japanese restaurant and order miso soup, or a health food shop and buy some kombucha.
fraidycat
Would taking charcoal help? If anything has a chance of helping to at least minimize the effects, this just might be it. Activated charcoal, the sooner she can take some, the better chance it has.
Nemom
I have read that drinking lemon water would help with detoxing the gluten quicker. I drink lemon water all the time but have not been glutened recently to see if it helps. So sorry this happened. ETA: Can she take an Epsom Salt bath somewhere? Would help with detoxing as well.
