eternalsummer
This reminds me that I need to do a diorama project with the kids. I remember doing one in maybe 4th/5th grade, and it was awesome :)
redsquirrel
I love seeing this ever year! Gosh, people are so creative
Farrar
We usually do them but we didn't this year. Oh well. I have a weird question... Is this mostly a DC thing or what? Like, it's WaPo that seems to run the big contest for them. And we know so many people who make them. And you see them at weird art exhibits. Is it like that everywhere? Like, are families everywhere making these? Do other cities have a contest for them?
EmseB
I haven't seen them anywhere else, but then again when I lived in NoVA I didn't really know anyone IRL who made them either.

Jean in Newcastle
Our paper (Seattle Times) does one every year. So maybe it is just Washingtons everywhere!
