Himlayan Pink Salt

On a whim, I bought a bag.  I don't know what I was thinking!  What do I do with it?  It's coarse ground. :smash:

You could get a salt grinder, or use it in cooking.  The coarse grind won't matter if you are cooking in liquid.

Get a salt grinder and use it for finishing and at table. Any other use is a waste of money.

Just get a salt grinder, I don't use it in cooking but stuff I put salt on anyway like grapefruit or avocados, its really yummy with almond butter and honey, pink salt with a course grind is perfect with it.

It's not as salty as regular salt. We buy the little grinders of it from Trader Joe's ($2) and love it on tomatoes, avocados, etc. It's definitely for sprinkling on after you're done cooking. :)

that is our favorite salt here.  we use it on everything that we would use regular table salt on after cooking.  such a lovely flavor, a little goes a very long way

 

ours is fine ground already, otherwise I would get a grinder to use with it

You can also sprinkle a bit on chocolate chip cookies or brownies for that salty-sweet flavor.

 

(You sprinkle it on before it bakes.)

Or get a coffee grinder (cheap one for under $15) and only use it for herbs and salt. It can be ground up and used as you would any other salt and CONGRATS on your choice of salt! This salt should be far superior to what is commonly called table salt in this country. Another good option is "Real Salt" (comes in ground dispenser or baggies) or "Celtic Sea Salt."

I held a blind taste test at our house a few years ago, the usual Morton-style table salt v. kosher salt.  Every one of us, hands down, chose the kosher, and we've never gone back.  I know it may seem silly to those who are salt afficiondos, but it was a big deal for us!  Everyone's got to start somewhere, right?!
