I had the best of intentions to blog when I started this homeschooling adventure, but I just don't have time. Hope it's ok to just summarize here.

Dd11 is working on Fractions in Math Doesn't Suck and LoF Fractions along with Khan Academy. We have not started MM6 yet. She is reading The Early Human World and doing the study guide with it. She started the Wizard of Oz and is loving it. WWE1 is going well so far as is spelling and vocabulary. Grammar has been rough. We spent 2 weeks on AG Unit1. She got to camp with the Girl Scouts last weekend and had a blast. She is a natural at archery and saw 3 deer.

Dd8 is slowly but surely progressing with her reading. She is loving history! We are just doing the prehistoric portion of the Usborne Encyclopedia of Story, right now. MM3 was not going well at all so we stepped back to MM2. I knew she needed to repeat most of second grade, but it looks like it will be a complete redo. I am still harboring some real anger toward her ps teacher and school over this.

Dd7 is barreling through all her curriculum. She always got average marks in ps. I suspected it was because she was just not interested, and that has been confirmed. The girl is super smart but has ants in her pants so short interesting lessons are definitely right up her alley. I'm a little worried about her passing up dd8. I'm starting to school them separately so when this inevitably happens, hopefully, it won't be quite as obvious or hurtful for dd8.

They all have their first cross country meet of the season this weekend, and we are going to Harvest on the Homestead which is a pioneer days type festival. We'll get to see some really interesting demonstrations. It has nothing to do with what we are studying at the moment, but you take your educational opportunities when you can get them, right? Lol. We are taking next week off or at least the girls are. I will planning out our next 6 weeks which should transition us from prehistory into our study of the ancients, and from plants into trees and seasons.
