LaughingCat
& the cat needs to be a "good guy". This is for my younger DD so more towards easier is better for now but I'll probably be collecting harder books as well (like Warriors?). We have read most of the Jenny and the Cat Club series. I forgot about the Lighthouse series until I saw the other thread - I'll have to pull that set out.

LaughingCat
The Fire Cat is how we started reading the Jenny and the Cat Club books - DDthe younger still loves Pickles far more than Jenny. And how could I forget to say that we read the Catwings series! That one was a real winner because both kids really enjoyed listening to it. TraceyS/FL
The Cat Warrior series really got my middle, special needs DD reading. She even transitioned from her kindle with large print, to the regular books because she was tired of waiting for me to be able to buy them!!Then, she even compared Native American life to the Cats. OK, it is a connection - i'll take it!! :pI'll have to check out the rest of these, thanks!

Dmmetler
At a higher level, Diane Duane has "The Book of Night with Moon" and "To visit the Queen"-two books with feline wizard protagonists that somewhat parallel her "Young Wizards" series. I'd suggest waiting for both the Young Wizards and the Feline Wizard books until kids can handle the later Harry Potter books-they are quite dark and intense at times.
