EthiopianFood
I had an abdominal ultrasound dur to abnormal bleeding. One ovary is measuring 2 cm wider, longer, and thicker than the other. It appeared completely black. I will hopefully hear from the doctor tomorrow. Thoughts? :(
Sun
No wisdom, but hugs to you. :grouphug: Waiting for results is scary. I'm hoping for good news for you.
EthiopianFood
I just looked at the pictures on a disc. It is completely and utterly black, nothing at all like the other one. It is something bad. I just hope it's not something like cancer. :(
Kim in Appalachia
:grouphug: I have no idea what it could mean. I hope you get answers tomorrow. :grouphug:
mamaraby
It could very well be a simple ovaria cyst that is completely benign. I hope that for you and peaceful sleep tonight.
Mergath
:grouphug: Try not to worry too much at this point. From what I've read, any kind of cysts or fluid will show up black on an ultrasound, so I'm guessing there are plenty of explanations for the ovary's appearance that are sucky, but not catastrophic. TammyinTN
:grouphug: Don't go borrowing trouble. I agree with everyone else...wait until you talk to your doctor before stressing out. :grouphug:
countrygal
Usually black means fluid, like a fluid filled cyst (usually not serious.) Don't stress!! Waiting is hard. Hope all turns out ok. :grouphug:
readinmom
Fluid filled cyst? :grouphug: Praying for you.
DianeW88
Cyst. Black means fluid filled, and it's not a scary finding.
ZooRho
I had dermoid cyst on my ovaries, they were not cancerous but I did loose both my ovaries. It was a difficult time for me but not an impossible thing either.
Cindy in FL.
I agree that black means fluid filled. Sounds like a cyst. Hope that you find some peace and get good news very soon!
readinmom
Any news? :grouphug:
Laurie4b
Black is good--fluid filled. Cancer is white (other normal tissue can be white, too)
Tiramisu
My dd had an abdominal ultrasound. They, accidentally, found an ovarian cyst measuring 5 cm. It looked huge on the screen and completely black. They made her come back two or three months later and it was gone. So, think positively! Sometimes hormonal quirks can cause abnormal bleeding. It could be something simple that will resolve and you're looking into and being taken care of. Don't worry! :grouphug:
