I hope you are feeling better today, Jean! And that your eyes are feeling well.

Good luck with your neurological testing.

Swellmomma, you have always such busy days. I get tired reading about them :D.

I'm going to take a very easy, relaxed day today.

Plans for today:

-Math, Reading and Latin with the kids

-Latin & Greek vocab

-Greek grammar *

-read a book

-paint nails (hand and feet)

-exercise

*I'm working through a 8th grade Greek curriculum, it's the only Dutch Greek curriculum I could find where I could buy a TM (don't get me started on Dutch publishers not willing to sell to homeschoolers, grrrrrr). But it's so un-systematic, I have studied the first half year (in three weeks, yeah!) and I still haven't seen a complete declination/conjugation. Drives me nuts. I'm now taking a break from the book and learning those declinations/conjugations from a grammar. My dd is going to hate this book and I will have to rewrite large parts of it.....just what I needed, sigh.

You have no idea lol  I don't always finish my list because more things pop up, or ds14 is flipping out, or the puppies need extra attention but yeah my days stay busy.  If I get the diner job it will mean working 3 jobs while homeschooling (thankfully 2 are from home), plus upkeep of the house, pet care etc.  The kids at this point do very little in those areas, partly due to me not letting them, and partly due to their own refusal.  It's a work in progress and then my days won't be so busy with chores.  Though then we have extra currics starting up again so my lists will grow again anyway :D

Ummm....excuse me! Where is my extra large mocha? It's only $2.75, no fair you got some and didn't share ;)  Can you tell I am going through withdrawal from Tim's.  Son not working in town anymore means no reason to swing by Tim's, a 20 minutes drive each way just for a cup of coffee is not worth it lol

I understand what you two are writing, and I know Swellmomma that you are Canadian and not American, but you two could easily live on another planet  . Going out (I assume by car) to buy coffee :svengo: .

I am new to the Tim Hortons-ohlolic Anonymous! I just started getting them last week (when dh was on 3rds, he would bring me some home) it started as an XL Hazelnut. I quickly became addicted and started waking up 2 hrs early just to get my own.. after two days (and me seeing the menu in person) I have perfected it.. It is now an XL Creamy Carmel with a shot of espresso. HEAVEN IN A CUP I TELL YOU.

Although today I had to skip the shot of espresso because I forgot my money and had to dig in the car for change (Im not awake until I have my coffee) I also had to run under an enormous spider above my front door. The fact that all of this didn't stop me from going out to get my coffee made me realize I have a problem.

Oh, TRUST ME. I would never go out and buy coffee IF my coffee maker hadn't poo'd out on me.

I made a post on our first day of school... a day which contained no coffee. It wasn't good. So until dh fixes my machine, I will continue to feed the addiction. Although, I dont know how I will adjust to my coffee after Tim's.

I can't think about it.

Dayhome girl has 20-ish minutes left with me this morning.  She arrived with an empty belly, hair a mess, decent enough clothes at least (her normal clothes are stained and full of holes-these ones are clean, and no holes), and her bag of school supplies.  So she now has a full belly ready learn, hair nicely done, and is playing a board game with dd14.  I will be walking her to school at 830.  Pot of beets is boiling, washing machine and dryer are going with laundry, I have showered and my cup of coffee is brewing (since there is no way I am driving all over for a cup of coffee today).

I feel bad for her mom not being able to be the one to take her for her first day.  When my kids were in school I loved taking them for their first day, meeting the teacher, finding their desk and coat hook, and then a hug and kiss good bye with a "learn lots and have fun" (I said that phrase after a hug and kiss every morning for the few years the kids attended school). Actually come to think of it when I worked afterschool care in a school that was my line as I sent the kids down the hall to their classes and walked the others over the the neighboring school.  Looks like I get to have that fun part of ps again even with my own kids home.  I am so glad that when mine were in school I was always able to go in late on the first day of school so I could take them and not need the babysitter/daycare to do so.  Luckily she thinks I am pretty cool as far as grown ups go and is excited to have me take her for her first day, and loves her hair done (she often went to school last year with hair flying every direction).

Kelsey, that is some serious addiction :D. Spiders... :svengo: .

I only recently started to drink coffee, with lots of cream, sugar and caramel sirope, otherwise I can't stand the taste.

Now I have decided to stop eating sugar....I'm on week 3....I can't drink coffee....and I'm suddenly missing it, although I think I'm mostly missing the sugar and caramel ;).

I'm on atkins (most of the time ;) Not lately.. ugh) so  I use artificial sweetner. Horrible, I know! But I have actually adjusted to no creamer, sugar, or anything. I never thought I could do it. I just need it that bad, I guess. :)

What do you put into your coffee if you can't use sugar?

When I am not splurging on mocha goodness(topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle), I use flavored creamer, or just a splash of milk and a 1/4 tsp of sugar.  My mom doesn't buy sugar so at her place I use splenda.  Not as good as just that tiny bit of sugar but still acceptable.  Then again my coffee addiction is such that I drink it black if that is all I can get.

Oh dayhome girl is at school now, 2nd pot of beets is boiling, first pot has had top and roots cut off and are peeled waiting to be sliced.  Kids are finishing up breakfast and morning chores and lammenting that they really have to do school now that ps is back in session.  Have 1/2 cup of coffee to finish and then have to dig out a flashlight to head to the basement to grab my boxes of jars down there (all the lights are burnt out and the local store is out of bulbs).  Once I am home from the interview I will actually pickle the sliced beets.  For now I have another 1-2 pots to prepare first and school to teach, plus getting cleaned up/changed/make up done for the interview.

Good morning all!

Breakfast is done, so now, it's time for lessons. Gonna get my hair cut and colored this afternoon and take 2 of the girls with me for a trim. Dinner at my parents' house tonight so I don't have to cook.

I'm just feeling quite down this morning. Yesterday was a very emotionally demanding day with the kids, and it's not a good thing to wake up in the morning still tired from the day before.

1 pm and I am done from a morning of doctors.  All the neurological exam needed were bright lights and an interrogation to go with the shocks they were sending through my body.  Some were strong enough to get my body to jump!  Ouch.  The rheumatologist is sending me on - to a sleep specialist tomorrow and neurology again in two weeks.

I met dd at her volunteer gig, did some "free" volunteering myself  ;) to help her out for a half hour and then went out to lunch with the kids.

7pm update.  Took dd5 to dentist, she has some tiny cavities that need work so have to book in the city with teh one that used nitrous on her last time. Found out my o0ld position at the afterschool care was open, so I swung by there to let them know I was interested in working there again.  Ran to the grocery store looking for dill, they had none, so the pickles have to wait until tomorrow when I can check another place.  Beets need to be done tonight, waiting for house to cool first, some child thought cranking the thermostat to 30 would make the force air blow harder, nope just cranks the furnace onto high.  Eating supper right now and then will clean the kitchen and start the beets while working on my office and lapbook project as batches boil in the waterbath canner. My brother called to talk to ds10 and wish him a belated birthday and asked if the kids were busy sunday-tuesday.  Nope they are free, take them lol he may do just that, they haven't seen him in months, I am sure they will be thrilled if he does.

pickled beets are finally done.  It is 118am and I am tired.  Office still a mess, but the worst of the mess in the kitchen is cleaned up.  It was starting to look like a crime scene in there with all the beet juice spilled here and there.  Have to bump everything else over for tomorrow.
