I have a trick, no strategy that worked for us. Check the on-line sales paper Saturday night for the Sunday paper flyer's. We did and hubby was in line at ToysRus an hour before they opened and got one. They even escorted in one person at a time early to make their purchase. Each store only gets a few and you have to be there early. Good luck.

fingers do the walking some more!) No luck. A guy at the local GameStop recommended I hit the flea market this weekend. Is that a bad idea?

I wanted to tell you how I found mine.

I live in a very rural area, so I checked around in the closest larger city. I looked at Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco, Walmart, GameStop, and all of the places I could think of online. Nope, couldn't find one.

Well, the next day I decided I might as well call the really small Walmart that is in the tiny town nearby, even though I was sure that if the big city didn't have any, they wouldn't either. Bingo! Not only do they pretty much always have Wii's in stock, but they actually had two WiiFit's coming in the day after I called. I went in at 7 a.m. the next morning and bought my Wii *and* a WiiFit.

All this to say, if you have a rural area nearby, you should try calling stores that are there. I was thinking the big city would have better availability, when in reality the teeny tiny one-store town had Wii's coming in often but with less demand and more in stock.

Worth a try......:)

A few weeks ago we went by a brand new Best Buy just to check it out. We were not looking to buy anything. Well, they had four just sitting on the shelf! We made a quick decision to grab one since we thougt that we might possibly get one in the next six months. I asked the salesman why there were so many and he said because they were a brand new store no one was checking for them... Do you have any new stores in your area?

I've posted this info on here before, but this is how we got a Wii before Christmas...

www.nowinstock.net

I signed up for e-mail alerts from Amazon only, but I am sure there are other options. I would receive an e-mail when they had them in stock. I purchased a wii for regular retail price ($249) with no tax and no shipping costs. After we got our wii I just unsubscribed from the alerts. Best of luck.

from Toys R Us last night. I had to buy it in a bundle for $360 but it had a game and extra controllers we would purchase anyway. I did have to pay tax and shipping so it wasn't a bargain but I just couldn't be on the hunt for one and do all the legwork involved in finding one and keep it a secret (it's going to be a gift).

Good luck. You'll find one.
