If you listen to many audiobooks (in the car or otherwise), what "device" do you use?

Recommended Posts

CDs sometimes, occasionally tapes (I have an old vehicle). Mostly, I use a Sansa Clip (and DH has a Sansa Fuze, which is also good) MP3 player, but if the iPhone does MP3s, that would work too. Since my van has a tape player, I have a little device like this, which connects to the MP3 player and lets it play through the van's speakers: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Cassette-Adapter-Apple-iPhone/dp/B000FVDD30/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1368113171&sr=8-13&keywords=vehicle+tape

Another option is a radio transmitter, which is what DH uses because his car has no tape player. We prefer the tape player adapter, though, as they've been a better deal for the money spent.

I have a tape adapter that plugs into the headphone jack on my iPod.

DH just got a fancy new radio that has a USB plug and Bluetooth, so he can either plug in a thumb drive with his mp3s or play them off his phone via Bluetooth. His old radio didn't even have a cassette player (or a CD player), so he had to use a radio transmitter plugged into his phone.

Our car is old, but we have some captive time each week and Wait Wait, Don't tell me podcast is only 30 min long and actually not loud enough on my iphone for the back seat, anyway :)

Please share what you do!

Mostly CDs. Or my iphone. I have a tape to MP3 converter that goes in the van's tape drive and plugs into my iphone so I don't actually use the speaker on the iphone at all.
