shukriyya
I made a coconut broth last night for dinner, chicken stock, coconut milk, lime juice, salt, ginger and thai curry paste. After we ate it I left it covered on the back burner which was off and forgot to put it in the fridge. It sat out about 12 hrs and kitchen was cool, soup was cool to touch this morning. Dh says it's fine. What says the hive?
Sun
I know how frustrating it is to do something like that and waste all that food, but I wouldn't eat it. It sounds like a great culture medium.
pixeldog
"When in doubt, throw it out." Not worth it......
peachskittles
I'd still eat it but I'd eat almost anything posted on the "would you eat it" threads.
JFSinIL
Not since it has chicken broth in it. Sounds like a recipe for food poisoning.
shukriyya
Darn!! I'm rather irritated with myself right now. That's a whole quart of broth gone to waste. And it was really good, too.
violamama
Bummer!! Sounds like a great recipe, though.
In the Rain
Sounds delicious! I wouldn't take a chance though. Sorry.
maddykate
Could you bring it to a boil for a bit and then eat it? I am not familiar with that recipe to know if it can be boiled, but if it can, maybe do that. I would hate to throw it out.
J-rap
I think because of the chicken broth, I'd toss it. Sorry!
Belacqua
I know how frustrating it is to do something like that and waste all that food, but I wouldn't eat it. It sounds like a great culture medium. Ditto. Ever since our biology lab manual had us use chicken broth as a medium for cultivating bacteria, I've been extra careful about handling soup. Between that and the squid dissection, biology class has ruined a lot of meals. Sorry about your broth. Sounds like a fabulous recipe. shukriyya
Maybe I could freeze it for 48 hrs?
Soror
I probably would boil and eat it.
AMJ
Toss it. Some microorganisms can still make you sick after you kill them with heat. Not worth the risk. Make a new batch.
Koerarmoca
I'm almost always a NO on these threads, and I'm a NO again 12 hours is just to long.
