weddell
Amazon started their cyber monday sale on kindle ebooks. There are a huge number of Boxcar Children books for $.99 each and the first 12 books in a set for $10. The other good deal I noticed was several historical fiction books by Lois Linski including one Newbery winner. I haven't looked through the adult books yet, but there is a ton. Sale is today only. Feel free to post any good finds! http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=kin_post_os_08262011_DailyDeal?&docId=1000677541 http://www.amazon.com/Strawberry-Girl-Trophy-Newbery-ebook/dp/B006K92418/ref=sr_1_29?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1353918711&sr=1-
Rhonda in TX
It appears Barnes & Noble has a lot of the same books for sale for the Nook. The prices aren't quite as low for some (for example, $1.20 instead of .99), but still a great deal. TFS!

weddell
Here's some for high school/adults. Two of Octavia Butler's trilogies are on sale. She is one of the few (only perhaps?) female and African American Sci Fi writers (although that's not really what her stories are about). She is an excellent writer and considered one of the top in the Sci Fi genre. All three books in one from Lilith's Brood for $2.36: http://www.amazon.co...53937813&sr=1-1 All the Patternist books for $3.49: http://www.amazon.co...53937813&sr=1-4 I learned that the sale is all the books published by Open Road Media. You can search their site and then buy directly from your ebook seller of choice. I don't know if every online book store has all the titles or not, but I'm pretty sure Amazon does. They have a lot of famous authors whose paper books are published by traditional publishers but Open Road has the digital rights. http://www.openroadmedia.com/

nmoira
There are many titles by Pearl S. Buck as well, including The Big Wave, her only children's book. These are a good deal, as most of the print editions are over $10. http://www.amazon.com/Pearl-S.-Buck/e/B000AQ0HUM/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1 http://www.amazon.com/Big-Wave-Novel-ebook/dp/B008F4NQ86/

rachelpants
I have an embarrassing question that will show how out of it I am....technologically. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas....If I buy some books now, will I be able to download them later? I have the kindle app on my phone and on my computer as well. Will the files transfer? Also, does anyone know if the Kindle version of the Boxcar Children set or Mr. Popper's Penguins are illustrated? Thanks for any help! :)

Trillian
Amazon saves all the books you buy. We have multiple devices and I am able to send the books to my DS's iPad after I am done reading it from my amazon account. I don't know if there's a limit to the devices, but I currently have 3 listed on my account. HTH,

HTH, I have not yet hit a limit on devices (and between family members' kindles, phones, computers, etc. we have 18 registered), but for most books, there is a limit to how many devices can have the same book concurrently on it. (Generally 5 or 6, which is still very generous, IMO.)
