Parrothead
Help me list entertaining things that one can do with both adults and kids. All I can think of is ice cream socials and tea parties. I need some more ideas and some ideas that would be fun for boys.
Sasharowan
If they are about 10 or older, we have fun with trivia, taboo, charades. Just make sure the trivia questions cover something for everyone. We also like to have one person play the first few notes from a song and the others guess.
Parrothead
Kickball, badminton, frisbee, kites, water balloon fights, capture the flag, board games. Give them the video camera and let them film their own stories. I should have specified, "When one lives on a small lot in town on a busy street." LOL. Lizzie in Ma
Water balloon fights are epic family fun around here, hula hooping too. We also got a huge tarp and made a family sized Twister game that is, on occasion, hilarious.
stripe
Sing a longs, piano playing, whittling, story telling, making ice cream (hand crank), scavenger hunt, sack race, running with egg on spoon, kite flying, jigsaw puzzles, cartwheeling and other home roughhousing, swinging, cutting pictures out of paper, paper airplane folding, juggling, hopscotch, leapfrog, popping corn. How about Mother, May I? Tiddlywinks and jacks. I never played Tiddlywinks, but I think my mom said she did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_traditional_children's_games

black_midori
Board games! My kids are so into board games right now (boys, 6yo & 8yo) that I'm thinking of going to pick up a few more. They played board games for HOURS on Friday with friends and then for a shorter period on Saturday with me (they wanted to keep going but I had other things to do). I'm astonished! No requests for wii, computer, tv, etc - just "can we play this one now? How about this one?".
Annie G
Corn boil. But I live in the midwest, right in the middle of cornfields. g
Kathleen in VA
My sons like playing Risk when they get together with a bunch of other guys their age.
mom4him
I should have specified, "When one lives on a small lot in town on a busy street." LOL. We have a very small yard but we have squeeked in a 16'X52" pool in the back and a 15' tramp in the front. My two and the neighborhood are normally on or in one or the other.:D There is also eating.:lol::lol::lol:

fraidycat
We love card games and board games around here. Once in awhile we even make them educational/math drill by playing addition or multiplication war (depending on the child playing at the time). Denisemomof4
We LOVE family game night with both adults and kids. You can also have a potluck dinner beforehand or ask everyone to bring a snack to share.
