Katy
I went off nuvaring in January. At the end of the month instead of a normal cycle I started feeling pregnant. Tests were negative for a couple of weeks, then one night I got a (faint) positive. We were so excited! But the next morning, I felt nothing. I stopped feeling pregnant. The next night the test was negative. Period didn't come and kept testing negative. I skipped that entire cycle and the following month it was really heavy. The next month it was really light. I had no ovulatory symptoms. I started temping. Not ovulating until last month, with a very short luteal phase. Previously regular 28 day cycles (before nuvaring) have varied btw 24-27 days. Started taking B-vitamins to regulate hormones. As of today I am one day late. No symptoms except normal PMS-type urges to cry over nothing and being ridiculously preoccupied with food so I don't want to test yet. How long does it take to get pregnant after a miscarriage? In our early 30's so age shouldn't be an issue. Advice? Prayers? Edited July 19, 2012 by Katy
amy g.
I miscarried 2 weeks before conceiving Miss Bossy. I kept a chart to show my midwife so we could get a due date.
jrn
I miscarried, had a regular cycle 4 weeks later, then got pregnant. I had been told by my doctor to wait 2 whole cycles before trying again- I didn't listen.
Hypatia.
I had a chemical pregnancy in early April, sounds similar to what you had. A few light positives on tests, but then a day or two later my cycle started. (This was two months after another miscarriage.) I got pregnant the next cycle. Katy
Thanks everyone. I will just have to wait it out. I chose nuvaring because the doctor said I could get pregnant as soon as the first month I stopped using it, but since I stopped I keep hearing horror stories about women who it caused infertility for. Crossing fingers it just caused a B-vitamin deficiency and progesterone imbalance.. Waiting when you're trying is so frustrating!
hsmomma
It sure is! Are you charting on paper? It is so much easy to see your patterns over time so dont forget to write things down:)
pfamilygal
For me? Anytime between 3 weeks and a year. It can happen right away. Or not.
Mommyof4ks
It took 8 months once, and then I miscarried that time too, but got pregnant 2 weeks later with my middle son. I took the pill though, and that can cause all sorts of issues.

LMD
It took me nearly a year after my miscarriage to conceive - with the help of a fertility specialist. I was in my early 20's, huge shock. I have since learned that my body simply works that way, it takes about a year for my cycles to return post-natally every time, breastfeeding or not. Fertility friend is great! Good luck. Ahh, I hadn't thought about that. It may be exactly what's going on. Thank you!
Cassy
I miscarried 2 weeks before conceiving Miss Bossy. I kept a chart to show my midwife so we could get a due date. This happened to me with DS11. I had another miscarriage between DS7 and DS5 - I conceived DS5 five months after the miscarriage, at a point when I'd begun to decide that three children were probably enough :tongue_smilie:. I was 42 years old at the time.
MamaT
I miscarried, had one cycle, miscarried again. It took 10 months after the second one, but ended in another miscarriage. Three in a row was tough emotionally, but is what led me to adopt my oldest dd. Started adoption proceedings for my second daughter, and got pregnant with son number 4, which is how I had three kids in 28 months. :001_smile:
Dealea86
It really depends on your body. It took me 3 months after my first miscarriage to get pregnant again. I miscarried that baby, and it took me a full year to get pregnant after that. After DD was born, we never used birth control and it took me nearly 3 years and surgery for endometriosis to get pregnant with this baby. For a normal, healthy woman, you should be able to get pregnant right away. That doesn't mean it will happen right away - a healthy youngish couple only has about a 25% chance of conceiving every month. If it takes longer than six months for you, I would start trying to figure out if there's something more going on with your body. Good luck. :grouphug:
