mo2
That I simply throw away the dead mice she leaves on the porch as a gift? :)
Robin M
Don't think so. That's what I do with the 'gifts' that our cats catch and leave at the door. A few times I've taken their prizes away from them while still alive. Managed to save a couple. The cats get over it pretty quickly.
Lady Florida.
Maybe, but dogs don't hold grudges - at least not against those they love. :D
SunnyDays
Very true. Hurt feelings or not, they will quickly forgive the next time you pet them. :) And I have to say, I would do the same thing... even if it makes me a bad mommy not to accept the gifts with love. (Apparently I'm turning into Tiger Mom!! :D )
sparrow
No more than it hurts our cat's feelings when we're tossing the sweet little chipmunk carcass we found in our recycling bin and she's purring and winding between our legs as if she couldn't be prouder ;). Farrar
My cat's feelings were definitely hurt when he brought me a dead mouse into the bed just after my kids were born. I think it was his way of accepting them and my complete freak out has led to him never liking them.

gardenmom5
does she think she's a cat? I had a german shephard that took better care of the neighbors newborn kittens than the mama cat did. pity she couldn't feed them.

Trilliums
You mean you're not supposed to frame them in little shadow boxes? :D Or mummify them. OK, that could get a little creepy. Mummified mouse armies. I might be able to develop a phobia based on that image.

The cat does not try to please us. You mean you're not supposed to frame them in little shadow boxes? :D  Mummified mouse armies. That's nightmare material, right there.
