delaney
Scared me to death! It was low and VERY loud. It took a second before we caught on but we ran to the window and there she was! Breathtaking to see. Thought we were having another dang earthquake!!:tongue_smilie:

Rebecca VA
My son left for Dulles Airport this morning at 6:00 so that he could get a parking spot to watch the landing. Hopefully he'll be home any time now. The fourth-graders from my daughter's school also went to the landing for a field trip.
athena1277
I'm jealous! The kids and I watched for it, but we were just a bit too far south of the flightpath. DH saw it from work and we can't wait to see the video he took.

delaney
We were not in the advertised flight path but I think they had to loop REALLY wide due to the weight on top to get the whole flyover done. Lucky for us we are 50 miles west of DC and about 20 miles from Dulles. I feel melancholy....I remember watching the first shuttle go up in science class. Rebecca VA
Oh, Kristen, we're probably near neighbors! I didn't hear the shuttle go over, but that's probably because I was in my car driving home from Purcellville at the time it went over. Kathleen in VA
My husband delivers mail in Lake Ridge and he saw it - twice - about 2 hours apart. 9:30 and 11:00 or so.

Rebecca VA
Oh! Never mind! I'm 40 minutes north of you. I was down in Warrenton the other day, though -- my daughter's school's tennis team was playing against Highland.

TammyinTN
Our dd was on the porch talking to her grandmother and saw it. She was so surprised.:001_smile:
5wolfcubs
Very cool! We saw it, briefly through the trees as was coming in to land. I took a picture with my phone. :)
