KristenR
Anyone familiar with this book?? I'm thinking of picking it up. The reviews on amazon seem positive. http://www.amazon.com/Archimedes-Science-Living-History-Library/dp/1883937124/ref=reg_hu-rd_dp_img
mom2boys030507
My oldest and I read it at the beginning of the year. I thought it was a good book and he seemed to enjoy it too.
cjgrubbs
I read it with my 11 year old and 8 year old. We enjoyed it - especially the oldest - he loves all things science!

MrsMommy
My two older children loved it, (especially ds), and I'm embarrassed to admit that I learned a lot from it! Apparently, my knowledge of Archimedes wasn't so great. ;)
acurtis75
Dd6 and I read it and enjoyed. It was available from our library so we just borrowed it instead of buying.
redsquirrel
I would def check the library. Her books are very popular and the sort of book that a librarian can feel good about ordering. My son liked it very much. He read it over the course of a couple evenings.
Jay3fer
I bought all the Jeanne Bendick books I could get my (virtual) hands on over the summer. They're quite good.

RootAnn
I'll be the lone voice of dissent & say it was ok, but not great. We read it as part of BF's History of Science. The kids mostly found it dull. I found it mildly interesting in sections, but not my favorite book overall. I assigned DD#1 Bendick's Galen & the Gateway to Medicine on her own. It eventually got read, but just barely. :ack2: We are not fans.
