ktgrok
I made a big batch of dough. I baked two pans of sugar cookies and decorated them, then remembered I don't like sugar cookies (too plain) and I hate the taste of food dyes in the frosting I decorated them with. So....what can i do with the remaining dough?? It is chilled and hard right now, in my fridge. I have butterscotch chips and chocolate chips, I think. And cocoa powder. All the normal cooking stuff. Give me an idea.
mbholly
Turn them into Snickerdoodles. Form the dough into balls and then roll them in some cinnamon-sugar. Some recipes dip the dough in melted butter before the cinnamon-sugar, but it's probably not necessary.
Daisy
Snickerdoodles or thumbprints. Roll the dough into a ball and then stick your thumb into them to create a dent. Fill with different jams/jellies and bake. Yummy! They look like this although I've never used this recipe. http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/thumbprint_cookies/

2cents
You could make ice cream cookie cups! Using a muffin tin put cookie dough over the cups instead of inside and bake. That way you'll get the cup shape and then you can fill with your choice of ice cream. Yum! jjins
Buy a package of snickers bite size. UNwrap them, rewrap the candies with the dough. Bake and ENJOY> If anyone asks what they are "Snicker-doodles as they were MEANT to be enjoyed!"
mandymom
Add 1/8 teaspoon of peppermint extract and either mint chocolate chips (Nestle makes them, but they are a little hard to find) or chopped up Andes Mints. I add a little green food coloring, but that is easily left out if you want.
celticmom
You could make sandwich cookies with frosting in the middle.
silliness7
Make a fruit pizza - sugar cookie dough for crust, some kind of cream cheese goodness for the sauce (check allrecipes for a good recipe) and then layer on whatever fruit you like. I LOVE fruit pizza.
mom31257
Thaw it out so that you can roll it in to a rectangle. Brush the dough with melted butter, mix sugar and cinnamon and cover the whole thing. Roll it up and put it in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. Slice it and bake and you have cinnamon roll cookies. You could even use a glaze on them.

MSNative
Did anyone else immediately think - use it to spice up your tEa party. It's edible so you don't have to worry 'bout the kiddos finding it -?
KungFuPanda
Press the dough into a mini-muffin tin and fill with jam or chocolate ganache to make tarts :-) I realized a few years ago that I don't care for sugar cookies either, so I replaced all of my cutouts with shortbread. The kids can still decorate, but the cookies taste better. Edited December 22, 2011 by KungFuPanda
