FairProspects
My boys adore series (or maybe its just my fault for starting series books). Tales from the Odyssey series was a huge hit last year during Ancients. This year's big win is Ramona Quimby. We did 4 Ramona books before I decreed I needed a break. Narnia is our newest thing, and they are loving it. It is so fun to share the wonder with them for the first time. (We've also done all of the previous suggestions and found them to be great selections too.)
chicagoshannon
We're reading through the Wizard of Oz series now and love them! The movie is nothing like the book. The movie Return to Oz is best watched after the third book, Ozma of Oz ( if you decide to watch the movies that is)

sewingmama
Anything Enid Blyton -especially the Faraway Tree series. It's funny so many people liked My Father's Dragon. I tried to read it to my kids and they hated it and so did I - we didn't get past the 3rd chapter.
Farrar
The Jamie and Angus Stories by Anne Fine. It's brilliant.
kalphs
So many books, so little time to list them all. Check out Gladys Hunt's book, "Honey for a Child's Heart" or Jim Trelease's "The Read Aloud Handbook" at www.amazon.com :)
spaceman
Jim Trelease's "The Read Aloud Handbook" I do have this book, it really is awesome. It was one of the first parenting/educating books I chose to read, when pregnant with #1! I was curious what some favorites are here. :)
kristinannie
My kids favorite book of all time is Stuart Little. They loved it! Also My Father's Dragon and Boxcar Children series (some of them are really good....2,3 and 6 have lots of nature study...the rest I did not enjoy, but the kids did). I loved the book selections in SL P3/4 and P4/5. My kids are 4 and 5 though. Two of the best picture books I have ever read were Togo and Akiak. The illustrations are amazing and the stories are awesome. Also, Dolphin Adventure was such a huge hit that I had to read it in one night!
