What would you do with this flour?

Recommended Posts

I just realized that my 25 lb bag of whole wheat pastry flour got left in the mud room instead of being put into the fridge. Now there's a mouse hole in the bottom of the bag. What should I do with it??

Toss it. I don't mess with mice.

25lb bag? That's a large bag- I would doubt the mice could contaminate the whole thing from a small hole at the bottom. I would scoop out and use the top half of the bag. The rest I would mix a bit with water every few days and feed to my chickens.

I didn't think of feeding it to the chickens!

Gone. In the trash. Immediately. But I would make my DH take care of it. And then I'd set traps up everywhere, mouse poison everywhere. If I ever saw evidence of mice in my house again I would move.

lol!! There's a lot about living out in the country that nobody warned me of before hand! I don't think dh would go for another move after moving to his dream home. What love will do, huh??

I had that happen to my 25 KG sack of flour. I thought at the start that I would skim the flour of the top, then I realised the mice had actually dug tunnels through the flour.

I gave it to my ds15 to throw around a tree outside as mulch. When I looked out the window I saw ds15 & ds14 having the most marvelous flour fight ever.
