Susan in TN
Are there any online math games - I'm thinking along the lines of my Singapore math CD's which have long since disappeared :tongue_smilie:. I'm looking for something that will help with basic math facts - addition, multiplication, etc. Flashcards don't seem to be helping us here... Thanks! OK Family
Timez Attack by Big Brainz. So far they have mult./division. They are working on addition/subtraction. It is free and downloads to your computer. You can pay for other levels, but I believe you learn and drill all 12 facts on this one level. My 7 1/2 really likes it, well when I let him play. Allyson I found a link to it at www.freelyeducate.com
Susan in TN
This is neat - thanks!
heart'sjoy
http://jmathpage.com/JIMSNumberpage.html This is the most comprehensive and well maintained free math game site we've found. The only drawbacks are advertisements and your kids will probably find the links to other not so mathy games as they navigate through. EppieJ
I'll second Timez Attack. We have also started using Khan Academy. It may not be quite what you need but it's worth checking out. It's set up somewhat like a game. Here's another couple we ran across, but we haven't really used much at all (too many things on our plate!) http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/math.htm http://www.thatquiz.org/
Little Nyssa
Hi, we are using IXL math-- it's more practicing skills than doing games, but DS really likes it.

tjarnold
Thanks so much for these suggestions. These are just what I need! Tiffany
Farrar
One more - we have a few we use sometimes, but I especially like the ones here. We like the one where you have to practice adding to 10 to stop the balls from falling down the hole.
amo_mea_filiis.
My dd loves coolmath.com It is a very, very busy and colorful site, which is fine for my dd. I could never imagine my ds being bale to use it, though!
Susan in TN
Thanks for all these great suggestions! I'm hoping we can accomplish some much needed "basic fact learning" around here this summer!
savmom
Internet for Classrooms has links to free online activities & games for grades PreK-12 for almost every subject. It is the best site I have in my bookmarks because not only do they link you to every site mentioned above, but there are HUNDREDS more (maybe even thousands considering it covers all subjects/grades lol)! They also show which links correlate with state standards, have links for Special Needs students, and there is a free SAT/ACT prep course you can sign up for.
