Crimson Wife
This article made me raise an eyebrow. I'm curious to see what the Hive sayeth on this oh-so-important topic. Poll should show up shortly...
Veritaserum
I don't care what shape the can is. Pepsi is still terrible for you (diet or no). :tongue_smilie:
distancia
As the parent of a child recovering from anorexia, I don't like it. As a person who looks at form vs. function, I think it will be easier to hold. It will also be easier to accidently tip over!
NanceXToo
I don't personally equate what a soda can looks like to body image. I do, however, associate diet soda in general with body image, which is a shame, because diet soda truly is bad for you. People ought to just drink water instead :P
Daisy
Don't skinny women drink water? I've never seen a skinny woman drinking diet pepsi. Uh, that would be chunky me.
Night Elf
I answered 'totally cute' but that wouldn't entice me to buy one.
LidiyaDawn
Grrrr. I bet that's gonna tip right out of the cup holder in my truck. :glare:
kewb
I looked at it and thought "Hmmm, I wonder how this can is saving pepsi money? Does it hold slightly less soda while giving the appearance of the same or more because of its taller shape? Does it save on shipping costs because the cans are narrower thus allowing more 6 packs per case? As for the skinny image problem, well, I don't take my self worth from a can but I do see how it could be problematic.
edithcrawley
I think it is cute, but I wouldn't buy it unless it was cheaper than the generic soda. (Yes I drink soda, and lots of it, both diet and regular)
AK_Mom4
I think it's meant to compete (visually) with Red Bull cans
justasque
Kinda reminds me of those long skinny cigarettes targeted towards women. Ciggy or soda as a fashion accessory. Ick.
gardening momma
It doesn't bother me, so I said "totally cute." I don't drink diet soda, but even if they offered regular Pepsi in this can, I probably wouldn't buy it, not because of the perception that skinny can=skinny body, but for several other reasons. I usually avoid drinking soda at home. This shape can wouldn't work in a car cup holder. It's cheaper to buy a 2 liter, even if I don't finish it before it goes flat. If I do buy a different size can of soda, it would be one that holds less, so I wouldn't drink as much, even if that means paying more. Maybe it's the same as the home party thing--I don't have a problem saying no, so the shape of the can or the fact that someone wants to sell something at a home party just doesn't bother me. I guess I'm just not so impressionable. Edited February 13, 2011 by gardening momma
