JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
Isn't the Wii supposed to be wireless internet ready? Somehow you hook it up to a home network. I dont' have one but I thought this was how it worked.
Hikin' Mama
does the TV have to be fairly new, because ours is old enough that we had to get one of those converter boxes for it. Thanks again!
Annie
Do you have computers in the house that connect to the Internet wirelessly? Is the Wii currently hooked up to the TV, and do games work on it?
kewb
No, the tv does not have to be fairly new. Our Wii is hooked up to the tv dh and I purchased when we got married almost 18 years ago and netflix works just fine.
Word Nerd
Yes, you do need wireless Internet in your home. The only trouble we've had with Netflix with Wii is that we live in the sticks, so our Internet speeds aren't the greatest. We'll sometimes have to wait several minutes (several different times for a movie or TV show) for the content to load, depending on local traffic and the time of day. It will then show up as a channel in your Wii menu. If you haven't already set up your Wii to access the Internet, you have to do that before you can get to your Netflix Instant Queue. Granny_Weatherwax
I did this with our Wii just last week. deleted - since everyone else said what I said but in a more concise way Edited August 30, 2010 by The Dragon Academy
WiseOwlKnits
Thanks for posting this! I signed up for Netflix today because of it. :) I had no idea you could do stuff with Netflix through the Wii.
Barry Goldwater
I THINK you can direct wire your internet modem with an Ethernet cable to your Wii if you don't have a wireless router...but I have one so I never had to try it...plus my DSL is upstairs, but my TV is downstairs, so wireless is much easier... Abigail4476
You connect your Wii to your home network via wifi, and then the Netflix DVD will access your online instant-play queue.

Yep. You can hardwire the Wii with an Ethernet cable or use WiFi wirelessly. Bill

Mrs Mungo
One other thing-when you set up wireless internet, you should make it so that the SSID is not broadcasting. You then have to know the SSID in order to search for it. It's one of the easiest and safest settings.
