unsinkable
Under the Dome is a good read. It has 1074 pages and tells the story of a little Maine town trapped beneath an impenetrable dome. If you are planning a vacation and want a beach read, this would be a great book. It has the usual King characters -- ordinary men and women in extraordinary situations and how they either sink to humanity's lowest lows or find some inner strength and rise up to become heroes. I finished it but don't want write more b/c I think it would be good summer read if you are already a King fan.
Remudamom
I just finished that. It was pretty fun. I could do without the trash in King's stories, so I just skip over those parts. Dome was pretty mild for him.

courtney.byrum
I'm actually in the middle of reading it right now :) This is one of those books that make me wish I had a Kindle though, it's huge!
TravelingChris
I have had it on the hold list for a long time and I think I will get it soon. Looking forward to it.
6packofun
I really enjoyed it but thought the ending was wrapped up a little too quickly and didn't quite cut it for me. Maybe too simplistic or contrived...not sure, but I wasn't sold on it. Overall, though, I recommend it to King fans! It seems more like "old" King stuff, which is a good thing. KarenC
It is very good, one of my favorite Stephen King books so far. Karen
Mejane
Daughter just finished it. She said it was good, but a bit wordy at times -almost like he was just shooting for 1,000 pages. Of course, nothing can touch his Dark Tower series in her mind.
Chris in VA
I've read a lot of King's books--does this one have the dark supernatural element that several do?

Remudamom
I've read a lot of King's books--does this one have the dark supernatural element that several do? No, just the dark human nature.
Chris in VA
Oh good! I enjoy his stuff but don't want to steep in the dark, otherworldly stuff, y'know?
