alabasterflask
I know this is a strange question but I'm curious about where other people keep their bread. Breadbox? In the fridge? Somewhere else? And what about all the other bread products? I went shopping last night so right now we have bagels, wraps and pita bread in addition to our regular sandwich bread. The boys are busy reading and I just asked myself this question as I walked into the kitchen and saw this heaping pile in a basket on the counter. Rather than just wonder out loud, I thought I'd ask you :)
amyco
Yep, ours are piled up on the counter too, right between the microwave and the knife block. Bread, flour tortillas, pitas, sometimes hamburger buns. At least yours are in a basket!
In The Great White North
Ours are piled on top of the fridge - otherwise the dogs gets them!
Country Mouse
We keep sandwich bread and English muffins (things we go through quickly) in a bread box on the counter. We keep buns and tortillas and such in the fridge because I think they keep longer in there. I also try to keep several loaves in the freezer because I hate to run out! PollyOR
We have very little counter space, so we keep our bread on the lowest shelf of a cupboard. There is enough room for bagels if we have them. Bread products that I buy for a specific meal are kept in the pantry to discourage random grazing. OnTheBrink
In the fridge. It gets moldy on the counter and if it happens to get dry in the fridge, well, at least I have bread for bread crumbs!
The Girls' Mom
I keep all mine in a bread box. Right now in there are tortillias, english muffins, and 2 loaves of bread. If I think the bread is starting to risk molding, I'll stick it in the fridge to prolong it's life..lol. I also keep extras in the freezer. petepie2
I keep our sandwich bread on the counter because we go through it quickly. All other bread, such as bagels, english muffins, buns, etc, I keep in the fridge.
elise1mds
Everything except tortillas goes in the breadbox, though sometimes my DH will put his English muffins in the fridge, too, out of sheer habit from when he was growing up. Daisy
Freezer until ready to open. During winter months, they can stay on the counter. In our 110 degree summers, they have to stay in the refrigerator.
Dina in Oklahoma
In the fridge. It gets moldy on the counter and if it happens to get dry in the fridge, well, at least I have bread for bread crumbs! Ditto! Also the freezer for muffins and such that we don't use quickly. Suzanne in ABQ
I keep it in a cabinet. I believe that keeping it in the dark helps keep it from molding so fast.
athena1277
I keep all of our bread/baked goods on the counter. That is, except for dd's gluten-free bread/rolls/etc. Those go in the freezer or they will go bad super quick. They don't have any preservatives.
