kalanamak
what says the hive about this oh-so-related-to-homeschooling topic? :tongue_smilie: The Walmart clumping kind is just as good as the pricey stuff.:)
NoPlaceLikeHome
I miss my cats, but do not miss the kitty litter;) I found that the white crystal kind of litter tracked less in the house.
Cinder
We stopped using the clumping kind because it was so dusty and that got on everything in the room the pan was in. Blech! Now we just stick to Tidy Cat. Can't remember which formula, though. Odor control, I think, since we have just one cat. Cinder
happi duck
Our former brand of kitty litter changed to a stronger scent...you could smell the scent whenever the cat would walk by...it was like she was wearing perfume! bleh
mooooom
clumps better, much lighter than the clay, and there is practically NO dust. Our basement had a thick layer of dust on it, and our animal health food store said there were carcinogens in the clay stuff. The corn works great. Heather in Neverland
I have alway thought Arm and Hammer kitty litter to be really good.
MyThreeSons
The stuff I bought at Sam's Club is great! My only issue with it is that it's hard to pour out of that big tub.
Jenny in Atl
Someone a while back (on this very board) told me about The World's Best Cat Litter... http://www.worldsbestcatlitter.com/ It's not cheap, but I will never use anything else ever again. I've tried them all, having had cats since I was a wee-tot, and this brand is a life saver. My dh has to work in our basement, which is also the location of our cat boxes (two cats = two boxes). I would be getting an ear full if this stuff did not do the job.
gingersmom
I have been using Fresh Step for over 20 years.
SonshineLearner
I try to get the wheat kind... in case my dog (or in some of your cases children) get into it. He's allergic to wheat... but can't hurt him like some of the other litters.. Carrie:-)
grace'smom
I've been using Fresh Step for years, because it keeps odor down, but it is dusty. I am intrigued by the PP who said World's Best is good. Does it cut down on dust but still keep odor away? I might try it... Is it better than other corn cat litters? Chris in VA
My friend uses shredded newspapers. She runs them thru the shredder, I guess. She changes her cats' box every day. Cheap, does the job, recycles, and no dust like from clay. Doesn't track.
elise1mds
Another Sam's Club fan. I have six cats, all indoor, so I buy the bulk in bulk. I have a plastic container (think Cool Whip) that I use to scoop out the litter until it's light enough to lift and dump. I have three litter boxes, and I only have to clean them every other day, and there is NO smell. Most people will get the 'grand tour' of my house and then ask if I have litter boxes or if I let the cats go outside. Um, no, you passed by three boxes all lined up on your way to the back door! :)
