Alexandra
I can never find pants that are long enough for my ds. He is very slender and tall. Is there a dept. store that would have tall/slim pants? Thanks!
jlovebaker
good luck ... got the same problem. we love shorts in our family for this reason!
Laura Corin
I buy trousers for Calvin at Lands' End, in the overstocks section. They have slim sizes which also have adjustable elastic waists. He's currently wearing their age 16 slim (at age 12). Laura
Leanna Tomlinson
I can never find pants that are long enough for my ds. He is very slender and tall. Is there a dept. store that would have tall/slim pants? Thanks! How tall is he? Mine is 6'4" and only weighs 150lbs. We have had some luck at Eddie Bauer online and sometimes JCPenney online. We have never actually found pants IN a store. Many times when I ask for help in a store, they think I'm mixing up the waist and leg length. (Yes, I mean 28W and 36L....not the other way around.) ;) Before my ds hit men's sizes, we could find pants from Lands' End school uniform division. Ibbygirl
My ds is 8 and weighs 47 lbs. I get his khakis for school at Walmart. Sometimes I have better luck though buying it online and having it shipped to the store.
abbeyej
If you're looking for *boys* sizes, Old Navy has some options. I find their "slims" slimmer than Gap, Gymboree, and Lands End. (I was *very* disappointed with Lands' End recently, because their slims were *much* wider than the size charts, and we had to return them). On the other hand, *some* of Lands' End pants can be purchased and hemmed, and there's a range of lengths. So if I were to order from them again, I'd get 8slims hemmed to the 10 length. As you get into more adult sizes, more and more of their pants can be hemmed. Old Navy has slims in their uniform pants (including plain front khakis) right now. And theirs were definitely slimmer than the other brands we've tried.
Old Dominion Heather
Lucky! Ours only carries the regulars in the uniform pants.
HSinPeru
We buy ours online from Gap. Since the shipping is the same for a small order or large, I order two different sizes and return the one that doesn't fit. I've been really happy with the pants from Gap and have had no issues with returns. In the world of "husky is the new normal", it can be a challenge to find pants that look good on slim boys. Is there a dept. store that would have tall/slim pants? Thanks! Do you have a Kohl's dept. store? That is the ONLY place I can find slim khakis or dress pants for my son. zaichiki
Ds is a 14 slim and we've had good luck with Lands End, Old Navy, and Gap. Kohl's carries khakis and dress pants in that size, but it's almost never on the shelf. Bet you could get it on-line. Sometimes Sears has khakis in that size. I'm finding it harder and harder to get slim sizes as ds needs longer pants. Not sure why that is. I remember getting 7 and 8 slims EVERYWHERE. Seems like there's a size cutoff or something when it comes to slims. Now that ds will be off at school, I realized we'll have to figure something out for his uniform pants. The store we're supposed to use to order this specific uniform carries a 14 slim, but not a 16 slim... so what do we do when he grows taller??? Good luck! MariannNOVA
I get them for DS at Flynn & O'Hara -- I am able to go to their store here in town, but I am sure they are on-line if there is not one where you live.
Guest chickenoverboard
Try Lands End.
Virginia in Tx
I get pants and jeans on ebay (you can search by waist/inseam size). The "slimest" pants or jeans I have found are by Wranglers - but the khakis definitely have a western look - but at least they fit. At lot of times the items are new. kewb
I have had luck finding slims in larger sizes at Kohl's and Sears. Otherwise I order from Land' End.
vkay
Their sizes run longer than other stores, so you can get some extra length that way without increasing the waist.
Guest KarenGarton
There's an online store called Daddy Long Legs that specialise in pants for tall, slim boys. They're based in Australia, but they will ship to anywhere in the world. Take a look!
dcjlkplus3
JC Penneys sells slims all the way through the sizes in the children's depart (not sure what those sizes are for boys (16 for girls))
Melissa in FL
I have the same problem. The best solution I've come up with is to order through sears.com. Sears policy is that you can order online and then return to the store. Since my store does not carry any slims past 12 (plenty of husky's which I find rather sad) I just order what I want to look at and return what we don't want. We just got in an order of shorts this week (we're in FL, so shorts are all season). I bought 6 pairs from sears.com. After seeing them we are returning 2. One pair just totally did not fit right on the child. Another pair was very close in color and style as one other pair, so we're returning it. I had planned to keep 4 pairs, so it worked out perfect. My mom's sears does sometimes have slim in higher sizes, she was able to get ds 3 pairs of jeans this summer in 16S. She keeps her eyes open for me when I'm looking for something, but only at sears. I can return them at my sears, that isn't the case at JcPenney! HtH Melissa
Wendi
I recently found some slim-size khakis at JCPenney. They are Izod brand; they had slim all the way up to 20. They're available online, too. Here's the link: boys slim khakis HTH! Wendi Edited August 27, 2009 by Wendi
rlowetx
Target sells Cherokee chinos that have expandable (or in our case reduce-able) waists. That is all my son wears for pants - all the others slip off his anorexic looking body.
zaichiki
Okay... so they're navy blue... but we found uniform pants at Sears in slim sizes for $12 each! Wahoo!
