eternalknot
We started mid-July, slowly, with math. Each week we're folding in an additional "subject" and we'll be all hands in mid-August.

MamaT
August 10th, and I'm still planning. Thank goodness I'm almost through. We are doing TOG for the first time this year and there is a LOT of planning - it will be done for the whole year by the end of this week though. YEAH!!! tinkgumby
August 24, which accidentally and coincidentally is the same day the local schools start. Same here - but then we're taking 11 days off in September to visit Disney World. :D
Denise in Florida
We are fairly unschoolerish, so most of our lifestyle is a continuum of learning. There are certain projects that begin or end on a particular date. Oldest dd leaves for college on Aug 16th, youngest has wisdom teeth out the following week, so we will start gearing up after that. When my friends ask when school starts (or summer vacation) I always say "It's hard to tell."
kokotg
We started today...my husband's a teacher and today was supposed to be his first day of pre-planning--but then we found out they're doing furlough days, so he's not actually going back until Wednesday. But we stared today anyway--we just went on a long family bike ride this morning and out to lunch first.

Just Me
We will start August 17th, one week before public schools. We are taking a week's vacation in September. I am going to be homeschooling a friend's child this year so I plan to follow the public school calendar for the most part.

Katiebug_1976
We had planned to start right after Labor Day, but the kids and I are getting restless. I figured that since we have all our books, and I just have to make a few copies, we will strt Aug. 3rd. This will give us some extra time to take off if needed when the baby is born.:001_smile:
Lisa in the UP of MI
We're starting August 24th. We are going on a vacation the week before and will come back mid-week. This gives me half a week to unpack and get back into the swing of things before starting school. I was hoping to start a little earlier but I figured it would be easier to wait until after the trip.
