  1. I agree with the bolded. But then I have never watched any other violent movie so I have no comparison. It was awful...I think I had my eyes closed the whole time. No way would I let my children watch it (ever) and I wish someone had stopped me. :glare:
  2. I agree with this too. If it was me getting the note, I would be pleased. New friends are fun and what a neat way of meeting. :001_smile:
  3. 'fraid not......she goes everywhere I go. That's (almost) like asking for one of my kiddos. :D Congratulations!!!
  4. Ahhh, I vaguely remember from high school grammar classes that one should avoid using the passive voice because it often ends up sounding confusing or awkward. Perfect example. The way I was saying it makes it sound like the lemonade is going to get tipsy. LOL, "someone will drink it" sounds ever so much better. (active voice) And we are back from the beach and the lemonade did indeed get finished.
  5. Okay, thanks for the responses. It doesn't bother me if I know it is the correct way to say it. All of a sudden, though, I wasn't so sure. Well....off to the beach now with our gallon full of lemonade which will be drunk by all of us. ;)
  6. Almost like the quip/joke I heard about the weather here in Montana: "It's hard to predict when summer will come any given year, but if usually falls on a Tuesday." ....or something like that. I feel your pain. :tongue_smilie:
  7. What is the proper way to say this. It sounds so awful any way I say it. "Don't worry about making too much lemonade. It will get __________?"
  8. :iagree::iagree: Why anyone would waste calories on these things is beyond me.
  9. I would go for that....except that I don't know where you live. Anywhere really hot and dry sounds great though. ;)
  10. Yes :D I sympathize with those of you that have too much sun. No, actually, I don't know if I can honestly say that. I have never lived in a place with a lot of sun so, for us, every hot, sunny day is cause for great rejoicing. So, I can't relate to "too much sun" or "too hot".
  11. We are (supposedly) going to hit 100 today for the first time this summer. I am hoping, but not believing.
  12. MMMM.....I would love some good chocolate right about now.
  13. oops...just decided to go to the beach. I am otta here. :auto:
  14. Me....$40 a month...I don't go to town that much. We live 45 minutes away and it is just not worth it. My husband....ah, that's another story. He is self-employed. Works in construction and sometimes fills up 3 or 4 times a week....$75 dollars each time. It hurts. We spend WAY more on gas than we do on groceries.
  15. Maybe you could tell us how your day is going.... ....jumping into the conversation rather belatedly....I love threads like these. :D
  16. I agree wholeheartedly. Right now I drive a Subaru :tongue_smilie: and my husband has his diesel truck. Both very functional vehicles. Someday.....;)
  17. I love that Bible verse. ;) And I agree with the bolded. Although, I have always thought gray was beautiful, so I don't think I will struggle with it. I am 36...a few gray hairs...blond hair...they are not very obvious and I kind of like them. :D
  18. :iagree:Same here. We are in Montana and most of my family is back east. Having them come visit is a super exciting time.
  19. :D Thanks for the tip. So far this summer I went to the beach only once with the whole gang. It was quite an interesting experience. :tongue_smilie: The baby is only 11 months old and stayed in her stroller the whole time and was actually very happy. We do have a very strict life jacket rule for those old enough to go into the water. The whole beach thing is doable, I know. I just don't have the energy for it if it gets too complicated. ;)
  20. LOL, Unfortunately I only have room for 2 extras in my home and at present they are both filled. I will let you know when I have an opening. :D
  21. I know she is getting WIC and food stamps. I don't know about any of the other things. I didn't know that there was childcare assistance available and maybe she doesn't either. I will have to ask her about that. Maybe that would be an option although she might not want to put her children into daycare. Thanks for all the ideas/advice.
  22. They do make double sided heavy-duty carpet tape. I have never used it but I would imagine that it would work, especially if you used it all the way around the border. I have tried the matting that you put underneath...ha, that didn't work at all. Then I found out about the tape but we moved before I could try it out.
  23. That's so funny and your DH sounds like my DH. He says he could live on deviled eggs. :D
  24. I am in too! I am going to start in the boys room and go from there. I really, really need things to be in better shape before school starts. It helps that today is a rainy, overcast and I won't be tempted (much) to play hooky and go outside. Thanks for the encouragement...:D
