My children have a list of rules. All three of them could recite them. When they are going somewhere or something I don't say something like "Be Good or Drive Safe" I say Rule #1.
Rule #1 Don't Be A Dumbass (this rule applies to everything and all other rules are covered by it)
Rule #2 Don't Do Meth. (This dates to a time period where there were billboards on our drive to scouts that said things like "Talk to your kids about meth" and I'd turn to Oldest and say "Hey kid, don't do meth." And he would say "good talk, Mom." It applies to recreational drugs, over drinking, etc. Again might say to a young adult going to a party, "what's rule #2? ")
Rule #3 Stay in School /Mom is probably right (alternate rule dates to when we pulled kids out of school to homeschool).
Rule #4 Don't Set Yourself on Fire (seems obvious. Required clarification.)
Rule #5 Don't Give People Shellshock
