  3. Hi, everyone, Mrs. Upperman has decided to take a break from teaching in order to take care of her family. We were waiting to have all our science instructors lined up before we announced the change. We certainly didn't meant to cause any frustration or confusion. Emails were sent to all families signed up for Mrs. Upperman's 2018-19 courses today. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me directly at julia@welltrainedmind.com Thank you again for your understanding and patience. Warmly, Julia Kaziewicz Collier WTMA Dean

  9. The Well-Trained Mind Academy is now wrapping up its second successful academic year! We've increased our class offerings, brought on incredible new instructors, and our students are so excited that they are meeting on their own outside of classes to write plays and attend science fairs. To keep up this momentum we are looking to expand our learning community by reaching out to co-ops and homeschool groups; we'd love to tell them more about our courses and tutoring options. If you are in a co-op or homeschool group, or you know of a co-op or homeschool group near you, please consider sending me, Dean Kaziewicz, a personal message that includes the name and contact email for the group. I will send a welcome email to the group that includes information about our school, upcoming courses, and an invitation to join The Well-Trained Mind Academy's mailing list. Thank you all so much for your consideration!
  10. German I covers what a traditional introductory high school or middle school class covers. Some students begin language instruction in middle school (especially those who continue on to prepare for the Advanced Placement German exam), so we've indicated that German I is a middle school offering because we've designated the course for grades 7-11. The material is appropriate for high schoolers, and we hope to see your freshman student in German next year!
  11. We are adding the following classes to our middle school offerings: SOTW Early Modern Time SOTW Modern Age Introduction to Music Theory & Appreciation for the Logic Stage (Full-year course) French I German I Classes will be posted for preview during the week of Feb. 1!
  12. We will be offering AOPS Pre-algebra, AOPS Algebra I, AoPS Geometry, and AOPS Algebra II. I hope one of these classes fits!
  13. I'm sorry that you are having trouble! Please email me directly and we can sort things out. Send over a screen shot of what you see and we'll go from there. julia@welltrainedmind.com
  14. We have removed "Basic" from the title. The classes we offer are U.S. History and Advanced U.S. History (supplement to the regular course to prepare students for the AP exam). Report cards and grade certificates will reflect the updated names. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
  15. I just asked our AoPS math teachers to look over your question and send a response. More soon!
