  1. My girls and I like Doctor Who. A lot. Obsessed perhaps. Our fish are even named after characters from the show.
  2. Got cancelled quite a while ago (just got home from running errands...obviously we weren't too worried considering we went out and about!). Love the rain, though. Nice cozy day.
  3. Okay, we're under a tornado watch, and the rain just hit -- HARD. Our car registered 72 degrees at Andrews AFB this morning. Strange, strange weather. How is everyone else doing???
  4. Ummmm... Doctor Who? Maybe?:lol::lol: (See my avatar???) I would also suggest Battlestar Galactica (the reboot). MI:5 is great, too. Both are streaming on Netflix.
  5. Bike - We are a cycling family - in fact, LLL just graduated to an 18" bike yesterday! Woo hoo! AND she got a new bike helmet that actually has....LADYBUGS on it! Book - I love reading. Little Dorritt is on my side table right now. Bread - I bake bread. A lot of it. Did a Pain de Campagne yesterday. Mmmmm, good.
  6. Haven't read through -- Use a Neti pot or squeeze bottle filled with NeilMed Sinus Rinse with a single drop of tea-tree oil. This was the only thing that killed my chronic sinus infection after 3 courses of different antibiotics.
  7. Donate. I tried the sell thing, to help bring in some extra cash and the effort to get it all together, photograph it, post on eBay, monitor the auctions, ship it if it EVEN sold, just wasn't worth the time while trying to take care of my family, do school, etc... Tried Craig's List, too. Didn't even try consignment shops after the pennies on the dollar they offered for nice, nice clothing. I would much rather give it away to someone I know who needs it. Sometimes it's not about the money...
  8. Anyone??? :bigear: Laura Linney is really good in it as Abigail Adams, by the way... but there is one scene of a tar and feathering. Very realistic and...very naked, poor man. One of the co-producers is Tom Hanks...
  9. Deep, deep south...like Montgomery, Alabama. Not that the people aren't great, just that I had to spend the month of August there a few years back. Sheer torture. Every time I walked outside and thought I was going to drown in boiling water.
  10. We just got the 3 John Adams DVDs from Netflix... So far it is highly entertaining, wonderfully acted and beautifully made. Just how historically accurate is it?
  11. I've Got a Crush on You (Ella Fitzgerald's version) The Best is Yet to Come (Tierney Sutton) Alone Together (Chet Baker) My One and Only Love (John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman) Let's Stay Together (Al Green) I Want to Know What Love Is (Foreigner) Faithfully (Journey) Color My World (Chicago) She (from Notting Hill) Remember (Harry Nillson - from You've Got Mail) Dream (Roy Orbison)
  12. Not always. Check out Reasons to Believe. Another ancient universe believer here...who fully believes that God created it all as stated in the Bible.
  13. Happy Valentine's Day! <3 Personally, I love 'em. The purple grape ones are my favorite, the yellow banana are second best. I only like the Necco authentic "Sweethearts" brand. The generic or Brach's taste off to me.
  14. Check out Google's icon today, and then click the link below to map a special place that you and your sweetheart shared. :001_wub:
  15. There's a WTM social group for Mac users as well. I haven't been in there too much lately, but you might check it out, too. Welcome to the wonderful world of Mac!!!
  16. Thanks! It is really easy to change the color, too -- I lightened the electric blue by kneading in white. His gel colors are really intense - much more so than Wilton, but as of now, there are only 12 colors...
  17. Thank you! I am NOT a cake decorator. I bought ridiculously expensive tubs of pre-made "Duff" brand fondant at Michael's. I'll probably never do piped icing again. It's like working with PlayDough!!!! It's fun! I just kneaded in the colors (I forgot to wear gloves and now my hands are stained! Ha ha ha!) PDG bought the Barbie with her own money...I refused to buy her one, but it was a good lesson for her...I suppose. :glare:
  18. Well, I covered it well with plastic wrap overnight and put it in the garage (too big for the fridge...) I got up at 5:00 this morning (my husband swims on Saturday mornings and I can't sleep anyway) and decorated it. The frosting hadn't set completely so it was fine. If I had done it last night I think I would've botched the job badly. PS this is the mom who HATES Barbie dolls...plopping a Barbie on a cake. :/ Here's the final product: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5091/5438731148_2f5303efdd.jpg' alt='5438731148_2f5303efdd.jpg'> DSC01190 by BikeBookBread, on Flickr[/img]
  19. I'm pooped out. It's almost 9:30 here and I'm running out of steam. PDGs birthday party is tomorrow, and I've frosted her cake in prep for fondant. I'm so tired though. Can I do the fondant tomorrow? Or will there be a problem with it adhering to the cake if the frosting sets overnight? Could I somehow soften it with a damp cloth tomorrow morning and finish decorating with the fondant then?
  20. I'm re=posting: We love our Quadrilla. I did a quick Google, it looks like the company was bought by Manhattan Toy (who also recently bought Automoblox). Here's their website. Amazon has some pieces still, also.
