  1. We don't have cable, either. I wonder if it'll be on the Bravo website or Hulu? I also heard that he has voiced interest in playing a "baddie" on Doctor Who... Wouldn't that be awesome?!
  2. I don't mind AT ALL! The military is such a learning process. It can be a very complicated life...
  3. I think you can guess my favorite actor. Look at my avatar. If you can't tell, It's David Tennant. I really like Russell Crowe as well. Actress? Katherine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn - a dead-heat tie, a million miles ahead of the pack.
  4. I just got a call from my husband, and he explained things a little bit further. I feel a teeeeeeeensy bit better. Because of his year-of-induction (he was pre 9/11, 2001) and because of his rank, he might have some options. But I'm preparing myself mentally still. It's still "yerghh" though...
  5. Last week, DH got notification that the USAF is re-starting the RIF process. He got more info this morning, and it looks like JAG will be affected by RIFs starting at the Captain (O3) rank and promotion board changes. Yergh... I hate this waiting game. I need to take a :chillpill: pill. Looks like we'll know more in 2 - 3 weeks. Anyone else know more?
  6. You wouldn't put put it over gas? That's where it performs the best!!!! :)
  7. I use mine for stove top braising, oven roasting and braising, stir fry, baking bread. I have a LeCreuset, which is decidedly expensive, but has a lifetime guarantee. It was a gift from my parents. I use it at least 5 times a week.
  8. I don't have any pix of myself from the 80's here Where George Walked, they are all at my parent's home in WA state. I graduated HS in 1986. Just yesterday, I posted a funny video on my blog about the Sleestaks from Land of the Lost, a serious 70's thing, but if you were in HS in the 80's, you must remember LOTL and all of the Sid & Marty Krofft saturday morning shows. My favorite 80's band was Van Halen... I heard "Jump" the other day and was right back in 1984 sitting in homeroom. LOL!
  9. I voted "no" but we don't pay - we use the Base tax center (military).
  10. LLL is messy about everything: eating, her room, her hair, her clothes, playing in the dirt. It just is her personality. She's also clumsy, often spilling her water glass at the dinner table. We're working on it, but trying not to make a big deal out of it...
  11. I often use the recipe on the back of the SACO powdered buttermilk container. Great pancakes on the fly. I don't pre-make the mix, though, as the buttermilk powder is best kept in the fridge, although I suppose to could make it up and keep in a ziplock in the freezer or something...
  12. If they had the power to hear this news, millions of people buried in snow and ice would be laughing their heads off...
  13. If you can get your hands on Wheat Montana flour, buy it!!!! Otherwise, from grocery store, I will only buy King Arthur.
  14. So far, been a bust here in our part of NOVA. Looks like it swept north of here quite a bit.
  15. Arghhh! I just watched Epi 4 on online, and now I'm reading in PPs that the follow-on won't be broadcast until after CHRISTMAS next year? GAHHHHH!!!!
  16. How come freezing rain is predicted tonight when the temperatures will be well below freezing? I thought that freezing temperatures meant snow? Blah. I hate ice storms... I can deal with snow, but ice storms are the pits.
  17. I'd get an ESV, Reformation Study Bible edited by R.C. Sproul, especially since they are attending a reformed church and like Keller, etc...
  18. Don't know if you'll like this one, but my girls just discovered The Munsters...the old black and white one! They think they're hilarious. Completely NOT scary, and wholly silly. Not every family likes monster stuff, though. I've noticed more vintage TV series showing up, like Leave it to Beaver and Flipper, which might be a nice break from movies. Smaller viewing bites...
  19. I use unsalted for baking, and add in salt as called for by the recipe, and for taste.
  20. You know what's weird? We had only maybe 2 inches where we are, Marianne, but our power went off several times. We never completely lost it, thankfully. It sounds like it was rather spotty. Nice to have PDG home today, though :)
  21. Only CS Lewis-related new buzz I've heard is the coming production of The Great Divorce... There's no new info on imdb about it.
