  1. Okay, you guys, tremendous peer pressure just saying. . . @Garga's everything, @PeterPan's butterscotch pie and @Amoret's beautiful box of cookies pushed me over the edge. (Splat. That's me on the Grand Canyon's floor.) So riddled in mom-guilt, I made homemade brownies last night and am doing snickerdoodles today. And @Garga's thumbprints. W.
  2. Great job!! And your glasses are really cool! W.
  3. I know someone whose son has PANS (I think I'm writing it right). This watch sounds incredible!! My sister gets nightmares. I'm going to tell her about this too. Hugs, W.
  4. I LOVE Martina McBride singing Please Come Home For Christmas, And Mariah Carey singing O Holy Night. (One year I listened to this one all year long. Her range is impressive.) Great thread idea!! Wendy
  5. See's candy! Best. Chocolate. Ever! (Also they'll replace too if they mess up.) W.
  6. Like you, I've heard how great it is. I had no idea. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. The scythe sounds wonderful, but sadly he does zero yardwork. Tee shirts and mugs are wonderful, but we've done them many times before. He loves making pancakes for the boys on Sunday . . . heading over to William Sonoma. Wendy
  8. Great story!! I'll find this and listen -- thanks! Wendy
  9. Thank you! I've never seen either the Bells or The Bishop's Wife. :) W.
  10. I know this sounds odd, but I'm hearing from reliable sources that the Muppet's Christmas Carol -- with Michael Caine as Scrooge -- is fantastic. Supposedly it's the closet to the Christmas Carol book that these people had seen. And it's not Michael Caine's voice-over a puppet -- it's really Michael Caine. We're watching tonight after we decorate the tree. Then I'm serving @Garga 's 10,000 calories for dessert (thank you again, @Garga!!). We also really love White Christmas w/ Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. Have a great weekend, everyone! Wendy
  11. Thank you for the calories!! The kids and dh will be ecstatic!! Hugs, W.
  12. My son says he can't think of anything and I'm not sure what to suggest. Dh is hard to buy for. He's in IT and buys his own IT stuff. He has a super expensive hobby and also buys himself what he needs. What are your kids giving their dad? Thanks! W.
  13. Thumbprints! I always forget about them. OMG, chocolate covered pretzels?! I'd love your recipe for both, but only if it's easy. Otherwise, I'll google. Wendy
  14. I am SO doing this!! There's a man on our street who really decorates beautifully all white lights, hard to explain but it's a beautiful sight. And I've been meaning to thank him for so long. My boys will LOVE this idea so much! THANK YOU!!! 🥰🎄🎁 p.s. and thank you too for the Christmas s'mores idea!! How do you make them Christmassy?
  15. I love to bake Christmas cookies too -- which ones do you bake? I'd love ideas!
  16. GREAT thread idea -- thank you! Every Thanksgiving night we watch White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. This year, one teen tried to stop the tradition and the other insisted. So glad he did. The dancing and costumes are so fun. It's a great way to get into the season. We also watch Polar Express and make a big deal out of it w/ hot chocolate. I make a point of making an extra pie and fudge. We put out Christmas cookies from Costco that are so good. For fun, we still get the boys the LEGO advent calendar. They're 17 now but they really love the LEGO tradition. I play Xmas music -- a little loud -- throughout December so you can hear it through the first floor of the house. One year I thought taking a cruise for Xmas would be so cool. My kids hated it. I wrote about the experience, it really shows what means the most to kids: I thought a family cruise was the best way to celebrate Christmas. Here's why I was wrong. I'm following this thread! Thanks again! 💖 W.
  17. Would you come to my house and teach me? You're not in Atlanta, are you? Just checking. Thanks for the info!
  18. Yes! Perfectly clear as mud, but I'll figure this out -- thank you!! You Tube videos -- great idea! Awww, sweet grandpa! I know! My favorite game ever too! Thanks for this good info! 😅
  19. I keep mine next to the bed because I like a lot of privacy when I work out. I also only drape folded workout clothes neatly on the seat. And my tennis shoes on top. (Mine is a recumbent too.) It is never a clothes hanger. I've gotten semi-anal about my workout clothes looking tidy on the seat. Dh tried to put something on the seat and I freaked out on the poor guy! W.
