  1. Oh this thread explains it http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/445148-photos/?hl=%2Bmedia&do=findComment&comment=4561373 ctrl F "media." I followed those directions and deleted all my images.
  2. Thank you!! Yes, I have a few images there. But I have no idea what threads they are in. Sigh.
  3. The reason people use other websites is so they can bypass the uploading directly to the forum. You are uploading to the website and then simply linking. But to me that is more work sometimes because I don't necessarily want every image from my PC moved to my photobucket. What does everyone else see on their reply feature?? "You can upload up to X bytes of files"
  4. Dude, I have this problem ALL.THE.TIME. Not sure if you have to be a member of this forum for X days to get permission to upload normal size photos, but mine caps out at 450 bytes. BYTES. That's insane! That's .45 kb. That's so tiny. All mine are jpegs. I end up putting them on photobucket. But I see other members attach normal size photos here sometimes. What are they doing differently? There's a picture of ice cream and bacon on another thread. It looks to be a normal photo, good quality. I think I successfully uploaded a photo here once? And that was after tinkering with it multiple times and it was probably small when I was done. But since then I've been unsuccessful. .45 kb is truly unreasonable.
  5. Eh. There are towns in my state that are French. They are butchered in speech, but we agree to say them that way because that's how the locals say them. I don't think it really makes it right, but just practiced. /shrug
  6. Like a large percentage of native speakers? Because obviously there are lots of people that just speak incorrectly. "Where you at?" was a Boost mobile catch phrase. Drove me nuts.
  7. I'm familiar with this, but probably more so from the internet than real life. I can't remember if I've seen the gray in person. I think maybe... Maybe with social media trends will come and go in a more timely manner.
  8. I put a fabric thing down in the cart before I put dd in. And she wears clothing over the diaper. But that's just me. Some stores have wipes for the cart. I don't even know if she could reach the bar with her mouth.
  9. My concerns are more about eye sight and radiation with technology of today. Yet, ever since I got the smart phone I have trouble staying away. I actually deleted my messenger app the other day figuring it would be good for me. I have checked facebook the manual way on the phone, but I hope this cuts down on my habit. I didn't even really want a smart phone because I was afraid of things like this, but I use it a lot when I'm out. It can do some things better than the Garmin. One of our homeschool groups has a game day which includes use of screens. The problem is you end up with a group of kids all glued to their screen and I'm going, "wait, this is social interaction?" You can bring board games, but I don't think they are as appealing to the kids. We don't have the cell phone issue with ds yet. I don't want to get him a phone anytime soon, but kids are getting phones earlier and earlier.
  10. Ugh yeah. I don't get it. I'm small framed but sometimes bras seem too small in the band area. Oh and there is sizing below A. Several years ago I was once fitted and told I was a "nearly A." You can image the great selection of bras in that size. Guys, I don't know what that botton on the reply option is for (next to an eraser icon) but I hit it the other day and it's messed up my formatting for days. I finally just fixed it. Phew, that was annoying.
  11. Ahh, this is one of those weird things like answering the phone! You say, "this is she" even though it might sound odd.
  12. Sorry, I edited my post. But I'm still agreeing with you, VaKim. I just had to rethink what I was trying to say ha. They should just use Facebook tags. "So and so" and "so and so" at the opera. Problem solved Lol. ;) Oh and I don't think a degree means they are proper speakers.
  13. I would think that would still be incorrect. Wouldn't you cover up the first name and say "me at the opera" or "just me"? But I am second guessing myself as well so... lol
  14. Seriously, what am I doing wrong? How come you are able to upload a large file? My screen says no file uploads larger than 450 bytes.
  15. I use LibreOffice, but I agree. I don't want a subscription to Adobe products. I want a choice. Creative Cloud is an annoying model. It might help a business, sure. But for home use I think it's a huge rip off. I used the trial, but wouldn't pay $50 a MONTH for it unless I could justify it.
  16. It's actually aimed at K-2nd graders, but Elemental History (Adventures in America) incorporates geography. Each week there are two state worksheets. You label the capital, list a few facts from the Smart About the Fifty States book and add the flag sticker to the page. We use this along with Seterra. I misplaced our Kindle Fire, but have a map app on there, too. We also have USA Bingo lol.
  17. Thanks! Is proofreading like finding errors such as missing commas or capital letters? When you brought up GUM I asked via their website for a sample, but they never sent one. A little while after that I looked at the scope and sequence for our time4learning third grade level and they have more grammar (finally). I'm interested in Word Wisdom if you want to tell us a little about it. This is the first I've heard of it and from my quick google search it sounds like it is to build vocabulary. So far we have just been writing down words when reading and we have a small workbook on vocabulary (many of the words are familiar already, though). This is the book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0545147131?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
  18. You could make your own worksheets and include both upper and lower case on the same sheet. That is, if these websites have a style you like: http://www.handwritingworksheets.com https://www.zaner-bloser.com/sites/default/files/public/FontsOnline_Sampler/FontsOnline_Sampler/index.html
  19. I'm seeing prices from like $13-$20 for worktexts. Is this the same link? http://www.hmhco.com/shop/education-curriculum/science/elementary-science/sciencefusion/shop-nowI haven't tried to order but I'll keep it in mind if it doesn't require me to have the whole module.
  20. Yankee Salad. You can swap out jello flavoring and fruit (one flavor of jello per recipe). We've eaten cherry, lime, orange (sprinkle, mix, and leave some unmixed on top if you want) For fruit we have always had some type of canned fruit. http://www.cooks.com/recipe/kf0ed974/yankee-salad.html
  21. Not sure about this product, but several there allow free site to store pick up which isn't so bad if you need to go in/near Wal-Mart, anyway.
  22. I hate it when it's cheaper elsewhere but less convenient. What? I have to leave my house? Pssh.
  23. I actually came to this board asking for grammar recs recently for third grade, but for now we're still finishing up a 1st grade Spectrum book. I would recommend the book. We got Mad Libs, but for some reason the one we have doesn't say "noun" "verb" etc. under the blank, but rather a symbol that stands for the part of speech. It drives me nuts! Here is the Spectrum book we are using: http://www.amazon.com/Language-Arts-Grade-1-Spectrum/dp/076968131X/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1454649043&sr=8-14&keywords=Language+arts+spectrumAmazon says they revised it, but we have the green cover one. We've also been slowly working our way through The Sentence Family. We took a break from it. If you google it you will see one or two places to download it. I don't know if it will help at all, but we got a Children's dictionary this year and periodically look up words that ds comes across that are new to him. I just wish the children's dictionary didn't lack so many of the words we find :/
  24. We did Science Fusion for K. It was the online program and a workbook. The K program was already cheaper than the other grades but dirt cheap during a Homeschool Buyer's Co-op sale. I paid like $20 for it all. The program was not user-friendly and was never intended for homeschoolers. But I did get my money's worth lol. I still have the workbook and actually looked up other workbooks to see if they sold individually on Amazon. I may poke around the site now that you mention that option.
  25. Ds had our sample on the screen and one of them was huge! It was like 60x80. Maybe someone that owns the game can better answer.
